Need suggestions - sexy suggestions!

Hi all,

As I mentioned in SOTD a couple of days back, I'm making my own aftershaves and colognes for my use, to see what I can produce. Have done my first couple of colognes today, and SWMBO thinks they're very nice. I'm now going to let them sit for a bit of time to let them settle and blend.

My post though is to ask for recommendations for particular scents. Mrs PompeyBill says that she'd like me to do a cologne and aftershave which is 'sexy and sensual'. Of course, I am eager to prove up to the task :D The trouble is, she can't say she knows any particular scents which she could pinpoint so I am asking you all if there are any scents/fragrances/EOs which you would put in that bracket and which would go well together.

Of course, I will have a look myself, but thought it would be good to get some expert opinion.

All the best!

Vetiver, Nutmeg, Black pepper, Cardamom, Musk, Leather, Sandalwood, Incense, Frankincense and Myrrh.

Which are the basenotes of Penhaligons Endymion.

This is only my suggestion, but everything that smells nice in food, tends to go well together, such as Lemon & Lime, Orange & Lemon. vanilla goes well with Chocolate and rich caramel and toffee scents, leather and tabaco, cut grass another lovely natural scent which I use neat is Bee propolis which can be mixed with anything, Apples and cinnamon. hope that helps a little.

Jamie.

For 'sexy / sensual' you need amber, musk, vanilla (tonka) perhaps sandalwood.

They will give off a 'warm / sweet' scent.

Try some smellies next time you're out, make some notes of the ones you both like and then compare the notes (basenotes especially) and you should find something which links them all.

I expect you've already checked this one out:

 I've just opened that link at work on a 22" wide screen monitor..!
to say that I got plenty dodgy looks doesn't begin to describe the situation

Well Vulva Original offer the intimate scent of a beautiful woman.....I wonder when Aldi will bring out a budget version called something like Munters Gash

Bill,

If you're struggling with your new hobby, I have written a booklet on the subject, "How to blend fragrances" I'll send it to you if you like, it shows you what scent matches with other scents and what clashes. It is designed to save you wasting your resources in trial and error experimentation. It's only a 9 page pdf file, but it will point you in the right direction. If you want it just let me know and I'll email it to you.

Good luck in your new hobby

Martin.

There was a pretty hefty clue in the url, Nash.

Hope I didn't get him in to trouble. Yes, the clue was there but an absent-minded click could prove troublesome!

Luckily didn't get in trouble, one of our lasses at work was actually curious about it  , might ask her to make me some
and yes the clue was there but it was indeed the absent-minded click that put me on the spot
