New Shavers FAQ

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://wiki.theshavingroom.co.uk/wiki/The_Shaving_Room_Wiki:Community_portal" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://wiki.theshavingroom.co.uk/wiki/T ... ity_portal</a><!-- m -->

The Wiki is here -> <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://wiki.theshavingroom.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://wiki.theshavingroom.co.uk</a><!-- m -->

You sign up - you get a password to whatever mail you sign up with and start creating content....

To learn about how the formatting etc works - have a poke around in a mature wiki - like <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://en.wikipedia.org</a><!-- m --> - click edit and you can look at the markup language used and lift the relevant bits... takes a wee while at first to get the hang of it but it's more or less infinitely customisable.

Can't someone with an existing account alter the Wiki on behalf of TSR users, rather than everyone altering each others' witterings?

The whole point of any wiki is that everyone *can* edit it - see <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki</a><!-- m -->

OK, I'll sign-up and add my version of the FAQs, then watch everyone else re-write it LOL! :lol: :roll:

To me that's the attraction of the wiki, we can all have a crack at it if we feel so inclined. As opposed to an unlocked sticky with a series of posts making observations after the OP, or worse, a locked sticky which represents the opinion of one person, or a small group. It's democratic, and in tune with the feel of this forum more than any other I can think of. Of course there's a chance of it descending into a sort of shaving Encyclopaedia Dramatica, but we're a surprisingly level headed lot, do you not think?

Edit: pre-empted again :lol:

I've just started a framework for DE razors, a lot of pages need to be created, but this is what I think would be nice:

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://wiki.theshavingroom.co.uk/wiki/DE_Razors" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://wiki.theshavingroom.co.uk/wiki/DE_Razors</a><!-- m -->

Feel free to edit, add & improve, that's the whole point of a wiki.

A wiki should not contain personal ideas or preferences, just facts. (that's what the forum is for)

I will try and upload a lot of pictures from my collection to add to the Wiki, if yours are better, please feel free to do the same!

Let's get this ball rolling guys!

I've just created a Wiki account and will try to figure out how to contribute. I must have been asleep (not unusual) when previous references have been made to the TSR Wiki. If some of us put a bit of work in, it will be a very useful source of information and links.
