Hello Coffee people,

I have just realised that I won't be in London for another month so my supply of Monmouth coffee won't last, not wanting to go back to Supermarket coffee an
online order it will have to be.

Who are the decent suppliers for coffee who sell online, perhaps we could list them all here for future reference.

I know about http://www.happydonkey.co.uk/ as that is where I bought my Grinder from so I have already sampled some of their coffee. It's pretty good compared to Supermarket brands but didn't seem overly fresh, I struggle to get the really good Crema that I get with the fresh Monmouth coffee.

Any online supplier recommendations would be most welcome.
 
I nearly always use Londinium espresso. The cost of a single bag and shipping is prohibitive. However, I know I like their roasting style (not bright, not dark, but rich) so I buy 6 bags and freeze those I don't need to start de-gassing (Londinium always stamp their bags with a roasted on date so you know it's really fresh). This works out at around £5 a bag which is very competitive. The Teres blend is a good place to start.

If you like bright / acidic espresso then try Hasbean. Great choice and great service but over the last 4-5 years their style has become progressively lighter and brighter which isn't to everyone's taste.

I do not live in England but i order from England. Hands-on-coffee.co.uk is a fantastic little online shop. I believe it worths a try. They only have one kind of espresso called lusty but you can ask them for another kind which is not on the site. It is called tube and it is made for a local coffee shop only. My tasting experience is limited but i like their ideas of roasting and selling coffee beans.
 
I'm sure you've tried already, but I hadn't heard of Monmouth coffee before, so had a wee shufty at their website, and on their contacts section it states that you should contact them if you are are interested in becoming a mail order customer. If it helps :)

i went through a big coffee phase last year and was using the algerian coffee stores, they have a nice selection of stuff and theyre very courteous. they send your parcels in brown paper and string which i found a nice touch :) and its a pretty quick delivery time.

Their site is so slow I lose the will to live! I gave up and lived!

It doesn't seem slow to me.

Thanks all, there is plenty of choice, I just need to decide which one to try first :)

Great little coffee shop up in Carlisle, sell some good roasts as whole bean, or grinded, and have some very nice pre-ground blends always stock up whenever I go back home.

Well worth a try :)

As the sample you sent me was so good I have just placed my first order with them.

Good job I have some freezer space, I have plenty of coffee en route.

How long does coffee keep for in the freezer?
 
I was in Monmouth Coffee's shop on Saturday and the young lady who served me insists they have a mail order service. I've not checked that out.

If the crowd therre is anything to go by, I'm looking forward to some bloody good coffee. I bought three bags of beans.

I like Monmouth coffee, I go into London quite a bit. Their organic espresso is very good. The shop in Borough Market is always rammed, the Covent Garden one, which is my usual, is busy too. I've not been to the Bermondsey shop yet where they do the roasting now. Will have to visit one day.
 
So, I ordered. For the first online order I went with the York Coffee Emporium. It arrived a few days ago I just forgot to update the thread. It's now all safely tucked away in the Freezer.
