Online coffee suppliers

Like the Hands-On Lusty Glaze and Black Chough.

My current fave is Rave Coffee - Signature blend is very good - caramel and chocolate. Mocha Java is also fantastic.

http://www.ravecoffee.co.uk or through Amazon.

Thanks for the tip/link I will try that.

Nick, how would you describe the roast on that signature blend?

I wish online coffee suppliers would get it into their heads that there's little point charging as much for postage as they do for product...send out little 75g sample bags for a couple of quid ffs it's in your own interest.

lighter than average - certainly lighter than something like Union Revelation.

In a milk drink, the Signature tastes of caramel and chocolate. I love it.
Try the Mocha Java as well - they also sell through Amazon marketplace and this might be a bit cheaper for small orders that come below the 'free postage over £25' deal.

I know I'm a little biased but I'd go for a small artisanal roaster every time.

Are local to me so they get my vote.

Another vote for York Coffee Emporium. And, if you are local, they deliver to certain outlets for free!

I buy from quite a few:

Hasbean - generally lighter roasts, but their single origins tend to be fantastic
Rave - signature blend is a straight forward coffee, not too complex, but fresh and easy to extract.
Extract- great range of coffees, their original espresso is a personal fab
Allpress- redchurch blend is on the darker side of medium, smooth, rich, with lovely intensity, another personal fav.

Right now I'm favouring steampunk coffee. They are a local firm near to where I live, bu the owner hans-erik used to be the lead roaster for artisan roast in Glasgow and Edinburgh. He knows how to make some utterly gorgeous roasts and I've not found anything I enjoy more yet. His velos blend is stunning both as espresso and in milk.

The other few are square mile, union and dear green. But I don't buy from those so often.

I've placed an order from hasbean, hoping it will be here in the next day or to.

I've always found hasbeans service top notch. Usually roasted and dispatched the day after ordering and arrives with me in Northern Ireland the following day. They've some great coffees.

If you like something a bit different I loved this coffee from hasbean. http://www.hasbean.co.uk/products/nicaragua-finca-limoncillo-natural-pacamara-funky I'm still pretty new to coffee and I often find that I don't really get the descriptors but this one definitely smelt and tastes like strawberrys. I'm gonna give the funkier variety of this a go next time.
