I've had this email through tonight with an update on the polished orders:
Polished Blackbird Update
Good evening,
I would like to apologize for the extreme delay in shipping this batch of Blackbirds, particularly the polished finish. We never anticipated the troubles we encountered with this batch of Blackbirds and we were simply unprepared to deal with them. Going forward we will be changing the way we take orders in the following ways:
If you are currently awaiting your polished Blackbird, please know that we are working hard to finish them. They will continue to ship for the next couple of weeks until all orders have been fulfilled.

Polished Blackbird Update
Good evening,
I would like to apologize for the extreme delay in shipping this batch of Blackbirds, particularly the polished finish. We never anticipated the troubles we encountered with this batch of Blackbirds and we were simply unprepared to deal with them. Going forward we will be changing the way we take orders in the following ways:
- We will not take polished pre-orders
- The polishing process is incredibly time-consuming and therefore it is difficult to accurately estimate a shipping date. Instead, we will polish razors in limited batches and release them on a first-come, first-served basis.
- If we take pre-orders at all, they will occur only once production has begun.
- Production timeline estimates can be wrong so we won't take an order until the razors are on the machines and production has started. This will greatly help in accurately estimating the shipping date for a product.
- Production will be much larger and products will be kept in stock permanently
- The next run of Blackbirds will start next month and it will be our largest yet, allowing us to keep Blackbirds in stock and escape the pre-order cycle we are currently on.
If you are currently awaiting your polished Blackbird, please know that we are working hard to finish them. They will continue to ship for the next couple of weeks until all orders have been fulfilled.
