The week of crappy shaves. Second use of the Gem carbon felt rough in the 1914, slightly better in the Damaskeene but the shave was neither close nor comfortable. My opinion that these blades are good for exactly one shave hereby reaffirmed. Permasharp equipped Shovelhead did fine, not as smooth as the Gem shave yesterday but ultimately closer and certainly acceptable. Two shaves per edge definitely works here.

Moss Anniversary Slate scuttle
Rooney 1/2 Faux Horn Finest (24mm/58mm)
Floris Elite shaving soap (tallow) + shaving cream (vintage)
Weber DLC/Triad Copper Rolling Hexagon
Gillette Platinum 'Swede' (1)
Floris Elite aftershave (vintage)

An excellent shave. The DLC has become smoother as my muscle memory has learned the right angle/pressure. The old Swedes were stuck together, so I had to destroy the dispenser to get the first blade out.

Tues 14th March

Vulfix 404 mixed
Tabac Stick
General with S/S Handle
Feather Pro [ 5 ]
Alum Rub/Rinse off
Tabac A/S Lotion

Now getting into the swing of the General, as it works better for me with a heavier handle. Pleased to say that despite my initial worries about using this blade, I have encountered no problems, and getting smooth/ close shaves every time.
