Razor: Mergress XL
Blade: Permasharp Super
After: Alum and TOBS Bay Rum
Three passes. The first with the razor set to 1.5 and the second and third with it set to 3.5.
Very satisfying shave for early in a Saturday morning from someone who used to hate shaving so much he never shaved at weekends at all if he could help it!

The Clinique gel was a freebie which I was trying out for travel purposes... more details under my thread of the same name, but it was excellent for a brushless shave.
The Progress... I'm beginning to wonder if I really need any other razor! Just keep my Weber as a spare. I'm getting on quite well with my ATT razors now (the two work together like good cop, bad cop)... but the Progress is just totally effortless... and for the record, just nudged it up from setting #2.5 to #3.
Anyway... just checking my face... may have a BBS here.

the BB setting. Shave not especially close but good enough.

A one pass shave with touch up this morning, last time with the R41, which will be moved on later today, after cleaning. Used this four time and as I get used to it I was getting a better and better result. May want to add one to the arsenal in due course.
The merkur slant from another pass around also arrived this morning so that the next to be tried.

First go with my beat up SuperSpeed from Erwin. I'm trialing it against my Tech as inexpensive travel options that I won't be too gutted if lost or stolen. It shaved rather nicely - not much removed during the first pass, but ended up with as close a shave as any after a further two passes. I like the shape of the head; it's more akin to a Rocket than the Gillette Adjustables to my perception. I'll give it a good scrub and wash in the ultrasonic before an oil and good polish to give it a bit of a pamper, but the fact it's mechanically sound and shaves nicely bodes well. The only problem is that it's got me itchig to search out a few more Rocket-style Gillettes, which I don't really have the money for. The SS strikes me as the ideal first razor - for any newbies reading this.
At the same time of trying out an item for the first time, it was also the last of my tube of Speick cream. It's been rather good. Slick and cushiony with a nice scent - it's the best cream I've tried so far. It may well be an eventual repurchase, but there are many other tube creams on my list to have a go at. I have the stick to try, though, which by all accounts even betters the cream.

The FS Pur-Tech simply behaved like a larger Muhle V2. It picked up lathered up the Füme quickly and easily. I had enough for two head passes, two face passes and still enough for maybe two more of each. It does generates the lather, and then some.

Clean and comfortable shave. The Old type razor is part of a pocket set the head has made in Canada on it. I'm not too sure if the handle's a miss-match as it's the 3 piece hollow type. I have another set similar with a solid handle with plain not knurled ball. The silver on the cap was badly chipped and scratched so I polished it off smooth.
