Looks like a well made and high end thing, but not my kinda shave. I am in the minority on that.

So are the various Gem and Star lathercatchers still reasonable or has the market gone south? Heh, hard to believe there's any demand at all, but I know there's something i am missing.

Is there much bidding going on for decent pieces? i would guess the more common 1912ish types would still be a deal. Hah, the 'yet to be discovered' list.

Any thoughts would be welcome,

Very comfortable shave tonight. Forgotten how easy yet close the shaves can be with a Fatboy on the right setting.

Prep - Shower / Pre-lather / 3 min steam towel (and a nice glass of 12 year old Singleton)
Razor - Gillette New Long Comb
Blade - Gillette 7 O'Clock SharpEdge Yellow (#3)
Brush - Omega 20106
Soap - Crabtree & Evelyn Sienna (with plenty of glycerine!)
After - Frozen towel / Alum & WH Mix
Result - BBS

Been a while since I used the New LC, as it's been known to bite, but the Yellow blade has been so smooth that I knew it wasn't going to be an issue. The result was so good that I couldn't even see stubble in the 10x mirror. It's ridiculous how good a shave I get in problem areas, with the LC.

PS yesterday used Star Lather Catcher, no back of blade lock. Only used on cheeks,but

Holy Mother of God that's cold! First time with this soap and it's got more menthol than any of my other soaps.
Yowza! Made my eyes water. Nice smooth shave from the NOS blade.
 
Two new toys:

Henkotsu Kamisori
Esbjerg Verbena Shaving Cream.

The Esbjerg is very slick and pretty well cushioned and smells fantastic.

The Henkotsu is my first Kamisori, and today was my first try. It is a little fiddly getting used to just using my right hand (I use both with western style straights); but no cuts, no burn, good clean shave.
