S.O.T.D. Saturday 1th JuneMay to Friday 7th June 2013 ...

Cream: SuperMax
Brush: Vulfix 404 "Bodger"
Razor: Ever Ready Natural Angle Razor (E Bar)
Aftershave: Proraso Green Tea & Oat Balm

Acceptable shave, I think I'll follow suit and re knot my 404 in the near future.

Today's shave,
Pre: GFT Coral Skinfood.
Razor: Stahly S6.
Blade: Personna Med Prep. (2)
Brush: Simpson Chubby 2.
Cream: T&H Lavender from the sample pack.
Aftershave: Floris Santal.
EdC: Floris Santal.

[attachment=7429]

Had my first go with the Stahly and it's 'goofy flashlight handle', as I believe Martin describes it. It was a strange experience but not unpleasant, the handle is obviously chunky but it was surprisingly comfortable to use and the head is quite mild but it gives a nice smooth BBS experience with three passes. I will try the head on another handle for comparison but I am really pleased with the Stahly.

Scott.

Brush: Simpson Commodore X3
Razor: Feather AS-D2
Blade: Personna Lab Blue (3)

EdT: Pen's Opus 1870

Have a great evening everyone!

BRW Bullmastiff Deluxe - Old Type head

That really is a classy looking frankenrazor and the handle matches up very well with that head design. Heh, I know the shave isn't for me but I still can appreciate something purty. Nice pic.

I think the founding father of BRW was probably one of the first to offer some well done handle options. Yours is a handsome piece and i would bet that handle definitely adds to the Old Type kinda shave in a good way.

Sunday eve.

Gillette Slim with 7 o'clock yellow
Ingram's menthol cream
NF Tubby1 in super two band

Slight change of pace using the Slim. And the menthol of Ingram's gives a welcome 'cool' to the chops after a couple of days in the sun.

Evening, everybody.

Sunday:

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: EJ89
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (2)
Brush: Ecotools Kabuki
Shave soap: Irisch Moos

Another terrifically smooth and close shave with the Polsilver.

GEM PTFE Blade
Vintage Old Spice (mid 1940's to 1959)
Erasmic Pure Bristle
Old Spice A/S
Vintage Old Spice A/S Talc

I had received this vintage OS soap earlier this week, but was doing the MWF "Soap of the week". Having a completely free day today I decided to use the straight as well as try the soap and all my other Old Spice products too.

This soap is GREAT. Almost wish I hadn't tried it since I can't replace it.

Tonight:

Hot shower, Planet Rock streaming radio
Bulldog facial scrub
Gillette Slim Adjustable, Super Max stainless blade (unknown number of shaves)
T&H No. 10 cream lathered with NF brush

Three passes, finished off with a splash of Floris ELite ASL then a dash of Yatagan EDT

Lovely shave

Wars shaving cream, Henk walnut silvertip, Super Adjustable (birth year) with Mem/Rhino, SFH Cedarwood and Lemon a/s gel. Really nice but pushed the Mem too far.

Supermax cream
Kent brush
39c slant
Perma sharp blade (first ever use)
Shave doctor moisturiser
Art of shaving Lemon aftershave gel

Really nice shave there a very smooth blade even in the slant.
Supermax went well as I'm a bit sunburnt (yes I know naughty but was at a raptor experience on Friday and didn't realise) was quite soothing with the aloe Vera in it

Sunday

white proraso pre post
Semogue LE Boar
Proraso Blue cream
EJ Bull mastiff + shark SS (3)

result: 2 passes + touch ups - excellent.
