Rerun of a Rerun Shave...

Yes, this is the same shave as yesterday, hence the same photo. There was one difference between yesterday's shave and this version. The same blade used yesterday was used again but this time with a Twinplex stropper.

twinplex-stropper-sml-jpg.50960

The results were a smoother shave than yesterday. It seems that the Twinplex provided a smoother overall stropping than the Kriss Kross. This blade on day two shaved better than the blade on day one which shaved better than the one on Saturday which was straight from the box. In fact this shave was a 3 pass DFS which was much more enjoyable than the previous two shaves. Note how the advertisement discussed using the stropper on brand new blades ... hmm.

Monday xxx June, 2014

Prep: Hot shower, No7 Men Energising Face Wash
Pre: Cold water splash
Brush: Vulfix Brute
Soap: QCS Vostok
Razor: Standard (Black)
Blade: Gillette Nacet #2
Post: Lucky Tiger After Shave & Face Wash, Kiehl's Ultimate ASB
Fragrance: Houbigant Fougère Royale EdP

Result: Two shaves in with the Standard and I'm impressed. As many others have commented the lightness really doesn't impact the shave. The Vostok gives up a really nice lather and leaves a lasting chill to the chin.

All the best,

Jon

Cobra Classic Razor
Feather SUPER Pro blade (yes, they fit in mine!)
Mitchells Wool Fat soap
GB Kent badger brush
Ralph Lauren Polo after shave lotion

Since going over to the Cobra, I've never had to use any post shave balm. I simply rinse my face with cold water and then apply aftershave.

I'm totally sold on the Cobra...

Cella
NF Tubby 2
#15 Aristocrat
Gillette 7 o'clock SharpEdge
Prof. Blighty's Harlequin AS

That'll do nicely. Three quick passes and done.

Prep- Bulldog face wash
Soap- MWF
Brush- SOC
Razor- Muhle R89
Blade- Personna 'Barber' [1]
Post- Myrsol Agua Balsamica

Nice two pass shave, first use of this blade which is exactly the same as the Platinum Chrome version but is unmarked out of ten blade dispenser. First use of the Myrsol and I had no stinging ( could be I had no razor rash ) and the scent is pleasant but is gone within a hour.
