Floris JF shaving soap (vintage)
Delta Echo Feather AS-D2/Triad Brass Aristocrat XL

Floris Bay Rum aftershave (vintage)

The postassium palmate-first JF soap has lost most of its scent, but otherwise it makes great lather. The XL razor handle is just a little too long for my hand.

Pre Shave: Hot Shower, Bulldog Face Wash and Proraso Red
Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable 1965 (4)
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (#1)
Brush: Hans Baier Silvertip Badger
Soap: Tabac
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Thayers unscented
AS: Old Spice Original and Nivea replenishing balm

Fantastic shave today!

First shave with the Gillette Slim, set to 4 as recommend by it's previous owner ( @BigBoar, thanks again!), I am really impressed with this razor, no fuss shave, just a simple 3 pass shave with a fantastically smooth result. The hardest part of this shave was trying to decide what soap, blade and aftershave to use, totally happy with the result.:)

+ one on the slim ....just a great razor ! ;)

7. Jan 2017, lunch shave

Pre O6
Plisson pour L'Occitane brush
Arko commander cream
Ming Shi Shaver 2000S @2.5/4.5
With Sputnik (2)
Pinaud Clubman AS
Skin cream alverde hydro gel meeresalge

Today I felt explorative, Turning the futur clone to 4.5 in the 3rd pass.... that not resulting in a closer shave, but in a nice razor burn, which I can still feel now 10hrs later. Haven't had razor burn in ages...

Apart from that ok shave, no bloodshed.

Omega 10026 boar
MWF
ER Streamline
G e m S/S ( 1 )
Alum Rub / Rinse off
Myrsol Antesol A/S lotion

After a week on Modern/ Vintage Razors using Injector blades decided to get the Gem blades out.
The obvious choice was a Streamline which takes a new blade well. It also happens to be my favourite, not only on looks but I enjoy shaving with it.
The weight allows it to be used with the lightest of touches, and I was extremely pleased with the comfort and quality of the Shave.

Razor: Gillette Aristocrat 1947 (Birth year razor)
Blade: Feather Platinum (7)
Brush: WDC-5 w/ Tuxedo.
Soap: Route 66 Rum Runner
Aftershave: Captain's Choice Bay Rum

I've used this handle before this month with a boar knot in it. I wasn't satisfied with it so I replace the boar with a Tuxedo knot. Very happy I did. It is now a great brush.
Very close 3 pass shave with a minor cleanup for a near BBS.

Hi there,

The Aristo from that era is one I could easily use every day if needed and be fine with those shaves. That's also true for the Diplomat and President.....all three shave about the same.

Usta be maybe 8-10 years ago I would see beautiful cased Aristos for very little cash in the wild but not anymore. Luckily I have one in the rotation and a back up one too.....just in case.

The gold was applied liberally on that model and wears very well.
