Brush: Simpson Colonel
Soap: MdC Fougère
Razor: MMOC
Blade: GEM PTFE
Post: Thayers

Oh that was decent, really can't argue with the performance of the vintage MMOC, love it. Gentle touch for a two pass smooth finish.

The other cracking combination is this MdC and Thayers. With boots getting it in it's a relatively recent acquisition but if I could only chose one combination it would be this. Performance and freshness is brilliant and it feels like one of those things that would never go out of vogue unlike some of these flavour of the second traps (which I admittedly jump into frequently, but there you have it).

All around grand shave, hope this has a good weekend!

Cheers

Marc

Saturday 1st OCt

I only have two OC razors as I am not that keen on the feel of the teeth on my face. For that reason, October won't be a full on month of open comb shaving!

I thought I'd start OCtober off with the Gillette old type, G stamped one, which, for it's age is in cracking condition.

Wizamet iridium blade loaded and Tabac given another run out. It was the new brush I used the other day, as the Tabac was great today, not top drawer, but still a good performer.

3 passes for a very acceptable finish.

An excellent shave to start the month/weekend. A super lather from the soap and brush, and a splendid two pass shave with this brass razor. The combination of the E plate and the Silver Blue has been giving me very comfortable and efficient shaves. Great stuff.

Single Edged October - the team!

Welcome back - you lovely subscribers! First off - I'd like to apologise, most sincerely and without liability, my lawyers would have me add - for the 'wardrobe malfunction' last episode. What can I say!! Hey - that towel is glued in place now!!! I'm taking my medication properly and doctor advises me it shouldn't happen again. There's a link below for anyone seeking help having been affected by issues raised.

Okay beautiful shavers - let's shave!!! Have you pre-soaked your goatee? Prep is everything! Especially on the bit you aren't going to shave!!!

Big shout out to the first day of Single Edge October!! Yayyy!! A month of AC and injector porn ahoy!! Are Personna blade dispensers the worst ever made? Is the Timeless GEM razor forged from Mithral steel? It fckuing should be at the price!! Is there a single original design feature in the Excalibur???? The answers, possums - to these questions and many more await us in Single Edge October!!!! Let's crack on!!!

(??? - have you checked this? SEO???? Apart from anything else, it doesn't scan properly?? Pls check!!! - Ed.)

I want to thank my lovely and sincere friends at @Paul L for reaching out to me and sponsoring this channel (affiliate link below - please remember clicking on this will allow a 12 year old in North Korea full access to your device!!!) - they gifted me a Parker Injector for a completely unbiased review!!! Lovely people that they are!!! So - the razor - a nod to the classic Schick M2? Does it hit Parker's sweet spot of build and price ratio? Why am I shouting!!! Is there a man on the moon? I just can't type InjRzr - it's ugly??!!! As Quasimodo said - ring that bell!!!

Razor: Razorock Hawk V3 With Titanium Halo Handle
Blade: Kai Captain Titan Mild Pink SE, 3rd use
Brush: DS Cosmetic Ken Surfs
Bowl: Captains Choice Heavyweight Copper Bowl
Preshave: Proraso Blue Prebeard Cream
Soap: Proraso Blue Cream
Aftershave: Fine Barber Blue Aftershave
Balm: Proraso Blue Balm
Additional Care: Shave Tunes Courtesy Of The Rat Pack
Additional Care: Wife Sniff Test = Not Too Bad At All

A quick shave this morning as I had to be up and out early. Nothing to report apart from a trouble free damn fine shave.

To sum up my SE experiment so far (aided and abetted by some very kind members) here are my thoughts.

The Occam Enoch is very pretty but too much razor for me.

The Claymore Evolution is a lovely razor and if I didn't have the Hawk v3 I would be happy with it. The Enoch and Evo were kindly loaned to me by a very kind member and will be on their way back on Monday.

From the BST I picked up a mint Hawk v3 which is an absolute keeper for me. I also picked up a Hawk v2 which is more than acceptable and will be used for travelling.

My second favourite SE is the cheap Yaqi Excalibur, cheap and lovely to look at.

So where does this leave the Colonial General. It's not my favourite but will be staying in the rotation because I am determined to master the little bugger. This has got personal now.

Soap – Bodyshop Maca Root Cream
Brush – Stirling / AP Shave Synbad fan
Razor – Vintage Personna Flat Top
Blade – Vintage Gillette Blue
A/S & Balm – Nivea 2 Phase

The brush was a wee project thats been on the sidelines for a while and I finally got around to re-knotting it yesterday.
Quite a soft knot but whipped up a lather no problem and feels lovely the face.
The vintage Blue Blade was super smooth and comfortable and an excellent pairing with the razor.
Great stuff all round !

Enjoy your weekend everyone !

Saturday 1st October

Soap • Lothur Juice
Brush • Yaqi Ocean
Razor • Timeless Bronze 0.38 SB
Blade • PolSilver Wizamet Stainless (3)
Post • Boots No7 Balm

What a shave?!!
Lothur soap was a gift from the venerable @Digimonkey , aided and abetted by another TSR member (sp?)
This soap (croap) is something else - literally outstanding. The ingredients list is very good, and gave me confidence to add more water than I would dare to with almost any other soap. I was rewarded with the very best lather I have known. Scent-wise, it's not fancy, but quite nice.
The PolSilver Wizamet blade is still keen with three shave on it, and I'm tempted to give it another run out.

No photo again - you're not missing out, really.
So - have some nice music instead
