Razor: Razorock Hawk V3A
Blade: Feather Pro, 12th use
Brush: Shedeleven Spalted Scottish Hawthorn AP Shave Co G5C 26mm Fan
Bowl: Captains Choice Copper Lather Bowl Standard Bowl
Preshave: PAA Cube Unscented Soap
Soap: Yaqi/Master Soap Creations Lemon, Lime And Cedarwood Puck
Aftershave: Yaqi/Master Soap Creations Lemon, Lime And Cedarwood Aftershave
Balm: Baxter Of California Aftershave Balm
Additional Care: Osma Laboratoires Alum Block

The Yaqi/Master Soap Creation splash finally arrived and was a real delightful, refreshing blast on a winter’s morning. Complements the soap excellently but it’s a summer/spring scent especially with the menthol kick! A great shave, still 12 shaves in on the feather! It’ll likely be my go to blade from now on. But I’ve still got a bank of samples from @Boycie83 and @Mr.Draper87 before I decide which to go for.
Have a great one guys!

Soap - Arko Stick
Brush - Yaqi Blonde Boar 24mm
Razor - Lemonwald Tech Clone
Blade - Astra SP (3)
Post - Lea Balm
AS - Benjamins Bay Rum w/Pimento

One of the cheapest razors I've come across, it's possible to buy this Tech Clone on Aliexpress for a few quid and today I was using it for the first time. I had reasonably low expectations, I've used a number of Tech clones before and a few manage to do the job well enough, and some others are horrible. This particular one is a clone of a clone in some ways, I've read it's supposed to be loosely modelled on the Feather AS-D2 which is supposed to be very mild, the Lemonwald one is actually reasonably efficient, definitely more so than my genuine Tech heads, but the Lemonwald one is reasonably smooth nonetheless. I think it did a good enough job clearing the 24 hours worth of growth on the first pass, I did a bit of clean up around the jaw after that and picked up a few little weepers, probably down to the razor/blade having more than enough bite than what was needed; for daily shaving I think the Lemonwald head would need a blade a touch less sharp than the Astra SP.

2nd shave with the Yaqi boar, I know already this brush will be a very floppy little mop of a brush, but nonetheless I quite enjoyed using it nonetheless. It's one of the things I like about using a boar brush, each one seems to be different to the last.

Have a good day gents.

Razor: Merkur 37C
Blade: Supermax Super Platinum (2)
Brush: Yaqi 22mm 2B
Soap: Signature Soaps Galava

20220125_191052.jpg

This is a lovely scent. A hit with my daughters as well.

I'm trying some blades in the 37C that I'm nonplussed with before I discard/PIF them. Perhaps it's the blades but I don't remember the 37C being this mild.

Tuesday 25th January

Soap • Arko
Brush • Yaqi Mokka Express Synthetic
Razor • Razorock Hawk V3 - Standard
Blade • Kai Captain Titan Mild Pink (2)
Post • Superdrug Forest Fresh Aftershave

Why these Kai Pink blades are called mild confuses me - they're pretty damn sharp, and give a very close finish. Regrowth since my last shave on Sunday was noticeably slower than with other AC style blades I use.
I find Arko a bit drying, but Forest Fresh aftershave dealt with that.

Happy Rabbie Burns Night Boys.
Unfortunately i don’t have a Scottish Razor ( again
so went for the Blue & White Scotlite series from PAA
well i really mean fakelite but Scotlite sounds better for tonight’s shave.
I’m now going to settle down to a good plate of
Haggis Neeps & Tatties followed by a cheeky we dram of Dalmore King Alexander the third.
Stay Safe Boys & Girls

Fair fa’ your honest, sonsie face,
Great Chieftain o’ the Puddin-race!
Aboon them a’ ye tak your place,
Painch, tripe, or thairm:
Weel are ye wordy of a grace
As lang ‘s my arm.
The groaning trencher there ye fill,
Your hurdies like a distant hill,
Your pin wad help to mend a mill
In time o’ need,
While thro’ your pores the dews distil
Like amber bead.
His knife see Rustic-labour dight,
An’ cut ye up wi’ ready slight,
Trenching your gushing entrails bright,
Like onie ditch;
And then, O what a glorious sight,
Warm-reekin, rich!
Then, horn for horn, they stretch an’ strive:
Deil tak the hindmost, on they drive,
Till a’ their weel-swall’d kytes belyve
Are bent like drums;
Then auld Guidman, maist like to rive,
Bethankit hums.
Is there that owre his French ragout,
Or olio that wad staw a sow,
Or fricassee wad mak her spew
Wi’ perfect sconner,
Looks down wi’ sneering, scornfu’ view
On sic a dinner?
Poor devil! see him owre his trash,
As feckless as a wither’d rash,
His spindle shank a guid whip-lash,
His nieve a nit;
Thro’ bluidy flood or field to dash,
O how unfit!
But mark the Rustic, haggis-fed,
The trembling earth resounds his tread,
Clap in his walie nieve a blade,
He’ll make it whissle;
An’ legs, an’ arms, an’ heads will sned,
Like taps o’ thrissle.
Ye Pow’rs wha mak mankind your care,
And dish them out their bill o’ fare,
Auld Scotland wants nae skinking ware
That jaups in luggies;
But, if ye wish her gratefu’ prayer,
Gie her a Haggis!

Tonight's delights by the side of a sink arrives on your screens (although I can write letters and include a photo if so wished) with a theme 'There really will be no beaver'

Beaver free razor - Rocnel Elite
Beaver trimmer - Polsilver Lodz
Beaverless brush - Yaqi Dandelion
Beaver batter - Captain Fawcett's
Remove that Beaver! - Goutal Eau De Monsieur

For some odd reason I find this Rocnel takes twice as much work as any other razor, but the results are rather sublime to say the least. Half the issue seems to be the feedback which just keeps saying 'Found some more over here' and makes one go over the same area once again. Mmmmmph.

And sublime it was and sufficient for big grin value.

An unhygienic tooth pick

And as I said absolutely none of those Beaver girls. No bloody way. Instead you can have some Show Ya and be happy....

And most wonderful Burns nights to you wonderful folk up North
