SOTD Saturday 23rd April - Friday 29th April

Greetings

Wednesday 27th April 2016
Prep: Shower
Razor: Valet Autostrop
Blade: Valet Blued
Brush: Semogue OC SE 2012 Mixed
Soap: Vitos Extra Super
Aftershave: Astral cream (soft)
EDP: Aramis Perfume Rose Calligraphy

A really good close shave but 'tuggy' which seems to be a fact of life with these stropped original blades. I am starting to think more and more that the problem is the pressure of the blade on the strop which is considerably greater than you would use if you were stropping a blade by hand in a handle, or if you were stropping a straight razor. A stropping handle is of course not an option with Valet blades.

Regards
Dick.

Omega 1116 boar
Nivea Original Cream
Schick J3 Golden 500
Schick "Chick" [ 5 ]
Alum Rub/Rinse off
Myrsol Antesol A/S

Of the modern Schick injectors that I have {other than the Adjustable}, i think this one when fitted with a Schick "chick'' blade provides the smoothest shave in all areas. Despite its long handle it is very agile, and i find it very good at working ATG especially around the neck. Today got a really good close shave with no discomfort .

The Executive Shaving Bay Rum Soap was a sample I got from Brain. The soap is extremly soft, almost a cream. Actually it started to smelt in the warm scuttle filling the bathroom with a lovley, sweet scent of Bay Rum. The sample gave not a huge amount of lather like other soaps when used in the scuttle but enough for a 3-pass. The lather it self was creamy, with good lubrification and gave a nice post shave feeling. Completed the Bay Rum experience with a splash of Pinaud Clubman AS.

Perfect contrast to the winter-like weather here in Copenhagen.

Good morning guys. Wonderful shave this morning with the N1, very smooth and comfortable. The Amici soap is dreamy, providing mounds of slick, creamy, beautifully scented goodness. The RR Disruptor is just the tool for the job creating lather effortlessly. Mita balm is always a lovely freezing finish with soothing care. Have a great shave and a great day friends. :)
