SOTD : Saturday 3rd February - Friday 9th February 2018.

9/2/18

Soap - Cyril Salter Tallow
Brush - Yaqi Tux Red Barbershop
Razor - Gillette Old Type
Blade - Supermax BDP (6)
AS - Brut Oceans
Post - Nivea Balm

After reading @Blademonkey's thread on Connaught stocking the tallow Cyril Salter soap I decided to use it today. It's one of the soaps which even though I like I seem to forget I have it! It produces a very slick lather with a great scent.

Best shave I've had with an Old Type today. It's taken a fair few shaves to get this point with the razor but I'm pleased with the results now.

Razor: Wolfman WR1 .67 SB w/ WRH2
Blade: GSB (1)
Brush: Wolf Whiskers 'Bishop'
Soap & Splash: Storybook Soapworks 'Visions and Revisions'
When I first used this soap it smelled too citrusy while lacking some of that good Earl Gray. This morning however, I was digging the intense citrus blast while getting the Earl Gray scent at the tail end. Fantastic scent and the performance of these soaps is pretty damn good too. The Wolfman .67 SB is aggressive with blade feel closer to my CG level 3 SB than my level 2 DC.

Blade: Voskod #1
Razor: Gibbs #15 Adjustable. (On loan @Digimonkey )
Soap: P&B Imperial Rum
Brush: Omega Boar 10098
Post: BBA PSB
EDT: L'Occitane Cade

You can't beat a bit of boar smothering your face with the glorious P&B Soap.

The Gibbs razor is truly outstanding set on number 4 and worked perfectly with the Voskod.
Two passes and I am silky smooth.

Enjoy the forthcoming weekend and your shaves gentleman. :)

The 1924 is nimbler than the cumbersome looking head would have you believe and imo, shimming improves it more than any of the other pre Micromatic models, but of course ymmv.
A great end to long week, I hope yours ends as smoothly.

Fri 9th Feb
RazoRock Plissoft 24mm
P & B Spitfire
ATT SE1 + Windrose Handle
Schick Proline [ 12 ]
Pitralon Original A/S

After quite some use of Injectors a change was needed. I am always aware of the
need to take care when changing from what IMHO is the Safest " Safety Razors" to
use of DE or SE`s , as lack of care/inattention is always rewarded by mishap.

Today I chose to use the ATT SE1 which I find to work very well for me. The use of the
larger blade seems to reduce overall Shave Time, and in next to no time, I was rewarded
with an excellent Face Stroking finish acquired with ease. Earlier in the week I might have
been tempted to say that the Supply V2 with a Proline blade fitted , delivered just as good a shave. After today I found that the Shave with this AC/SE razor was not only quicker, but as my skin tells me 8 hours on much closer too.
