I'm off to the first wedding of my university friends this afternoon. It feels like the end of one era and the beginning of the next! It's been a while since I last wore decent smart clobber as I avoid wearing anything of value at work (school teacher). It all gets ruined! M&S and Debenhams are invaluable for cheap workwear; i.e. cheap brogues, £8 non-iron shirts, £6 ties etc. I might even break out a pocket square!

I used finger-applied goo on my last holiday... it was a clinique freebie, very posh and worked very well... but I agree with Peter... you don't get the rush if you don't use the brush.

A BBS... glorious shave. With A-list kit and a two-day growth you can't expect otherwise... as long as you stick to the rules.

I tried out my second Omega. Not fully broken in but I decided to go for it. The loft is longer than my 10219... and it seemed rather muscular, but like the other Omega, works well with MWF. I'll stick with it until the little bugger is broken in.
 
Tried out the Mayfair Old Style - for an open comb it was very good although I had to concentrate a lot more than with a modern adjustable. But no weepers (first time this week). These old pieces make me clean them a lot more after the shave than I would a Merkur - but c'est a vie its older than Mickey Mouse. May hunt down a few more of this era as after a bit of elbow grease the shine lifts a treat and they look fantastic - and they're brass - I mean, who doesn't like brass!

Today's shave is a strange one down to using a DE again after spending 6-8 weeks "in training" with a combo of a straight and a Feather Artist SS but it was nice not to have to concentrate as much and thoroughly enjoyable!

Strange, I brought my lovely MdC travel container soap (cheers Neil!), but since I got my Jabonman soaps (cheers Manuel!) I've only used the later - today: Jabonmans Lavanda, Bartmann razor (cheers MrMagnus), New Forest 2201 prototype (cheers Peter!) and Myrsols Formula C (cheers Senior Miquel). Fantastic what you can achive with some help from your friend :D Uberclean
