time to start seen all the hype cant resist

I bought the Feather Popular as a tryout DE thinking if I don't get on with it, I've not lost much - for the price, I defy anyone to buy a better DE; this will now be my travel razor of choice.

EJ 89 I defy you!

Dammit Nishy - that's one on my "should I buy one or will my wife finally get fed up of the obsession" list...

...together with the Merkur Futur...

Going to have to get one now, aren't I?

are we just enabling each other or what leslie! i have to admit its a briliant razor my friend. I have recently acquired a gillette tech, gillette superspeed and having tried to cancel the futur order without success have returned it to the vendor. All I can say is the weight, smoothness, aesthetics and performance of the EJ is better than what ive tried so far although i havent had a huge amount of experience.

I also find the permasharps the best razor in the EJ i like the sound and closeness of shave this blade offers not to mention the reasonable price. I started with the Astras SP whcih are brilliant too but they make no noise.

Ahem - given your current collection, can I refer you to a post made just under a month ago?

And yes - we do appear to be justifying each other, just a tad...

you got me there and i thought we were friends! starting to sound more like the SWMBO ;) what is quite funny is the size of box i have been increasing slyly in order to hold all my shaving equipment, which is then nicely hidden under the bed, all this effort and its not even porn!

I suggested to SWMBO a month ago we needed a bathroom cabinet, just to keep the bathroom tidy you understand...

...little did she know what most of the cabinet would eventually be filled by.

She does now.

A thread on shaving related exscuses would be quite funny to read! I'm just about to move out into a flat with the soon to be wife, the flat has a walk in wardrobe, she feels its perfect for her shoes and clothes I know it would make a great hobby section (inc shaving equip of course) snookered!

Fixed

Leslie worth trying the macca root too, I would put this on par with avocado TOBS, very good quality, price and quantity. So that's an EJ 89, permasharps and macca root; just incase you forgot you needed to buy more shaving equip ;)

I kept the futur instead of sending it back, somewhere on TSR I read (think it was Ian) that its something most get so may as well get it, so I kept it. Had a shave with it yesterday nice razor - nice shave, the head wasn't too big but the process of adding and removing the blade was awkward and dangerous

I've got 2 TTO razors, both bought in the last month, a Timor and a Feather Popular. I like the Feather a lot and it's been getting a lot of shaving time just recently.

2 here as well, also bought within the last 5/6 weeks - I too really like the Feather Popular, cracking value & quality for the money; the other is a 1963 Gillette slim which given its age gives a beautifully close & comfortable shave - really glad I bought it, especially as I obtained it for just above the price of a new DE89

Also the EJ89 is cheaper

lucky you! ill try and put up my old fishing knife pics up tonight. Without sounding pompous im luckuy to have a private lake at the back of my garden, its a natural lake (7 acres) filled with carp, roach, occassional pike and breem. I have caught loads of roach and am yet to catch a carp if ever you are in north london let me know!

This is your lake??? Whereabouts??

Seriously, I'd be really interested...

My personal best so far - 14 pounds (back on topic though - note close shave around goatee :icon_rolleyes:)

Believe it or not it's actually in edgware/stanmore, it's called the seven acre lake, they don't allow motorised boats I do have a couple of rowing boats but tend to fish from the bank. being private the fish are massive, I have oby caught roach however have seen te Baliff catch a few carp. My best haul has been 27 roach in an hour and a half!
