SOTD October 1. 2024.

Razor - Blackland Sabre V2 (3)
Blade - Personna Gem (5)
Soap - Declaration Grooming - Darkfall
Brush - Zenith unbleached boar
Post - Thayer's Astringent
Frag - Aramis edt

A lovely autumnal shave, I love Darkfall this time of year.
The Gem blade on its fifth outing and feeling as smooth as butter.
A blast from the past with the Aramis edt, still good today as it was back in the day!

Until the next time, stay safe and above all enjoy your shaves!

Pre - Sainsbury's Luxury Soap Fig and Jasmine
Brush - Erasmic 26mm Shavers delight Tuxedo knot
Soap - OSP Neroli
Razor - Hone 15S
Blade - Vintage Perma-sharp Supreme
Post - Cold water Rinse
Balm - Barts Balm Ben Kilbreck - Neroli, Rosemary & Jasmine
A/S - OSP Neroli

Mmmm Neroli!
As smooth as glass from todays set up. I do love a bit of Neroli and the OSP is one of the more subtle of them, not too strong.
The Hone and Vintage Brit Perma-sharp, on its second outing, was just buttery smooth.
Yeah, nice that.
Enjoy your day all.

Good to see these legacy brushes used (even if I'm personally not a badger fan) ... it's of the shape that I've seen sold by Boots and I think also Culmak. Boots have retailed both Culmak and Vulfix brushes in the past. Culmak via Boots is a good guess if the badger really wants to know his heritage.
Yes I thought the same re origin. The bottom section unscrews and I’ve seen this with some similar brushes but I can’t work out why other than it might make it easier to drill out the old knot for a replacement. Mind you these were cheap in their day so why bother?

OCtober

Soap - Razorock WTP Gold
Brush - Zenith 2006
Razor - Yaqi DOC
Blade - Supermax Blue Diamond Platinum (1)
AS - Makler Attraction

First shave in about 5 days, and went for my trust Yaqi DOC to start off the month of OCtober. It mowed down most of the growth in the first pass, but needed a second to clean up a few stragglers. My face is feeling nice and smooth once again.

Have a good day and start to the month gents.

Razor - Rockwell 6S R3
Blade - Tiger Platinum
Brush - Simpson Captain
Lather - Stirling Barbershop

Haven’t had very good shaves for a week, didn’t even SOTD all of them. I’ll put this down to being very under the weather. So I’m feeling a bit better and decided to reset the parameters.

Very safe bet with the Rockwell and I decided to give the Tiger blades another try, to confirm how good they are before I order some more. No problems there, great blades.

I’ve had a lot of trouble getting a decent lather out of the Stirling soap, so I went to Defcon 3 with the Captain and also added more wet than usual. Sanity is restored… I’d even say the Stirling is almost as good as Arko… high praise indeed.

Great three pass shave with very pleasing results.

Started off with the Fatip open comb head but wasn't working for me with this second use Sputnik. Switched to the Goodwill open comb New and had a superb shave.

Rating: 5 / 5

Razor: Fatip Piccolo SE
Blade: Sputnik
Brush: Henkverhaar (TSR) badger brush Walnut Silvertip

My OCtober Shave today consisted of...
Prep 3P Pre shavecream.
Brush Highlander LE2023 Boar.
Soap Martin de Candre Agrumes.
Razor Blackland Vector OC.
Blade Feather Pro Super (7).
Aftershave Czech and Speake Amber 7.

For my first shave of OCtober I opted for the not seen very often Vector Open Comb.
I had a lovely two pass shave with the DmC providing a rich creamy lather cushion, the only downside was my blooming coin fell off the handle of my brush again.
I will put some of my special epoxy that I used on the every day razor.
I smell fantastic as per due to the Amber 7 and I am all set for an evening with the wife out watching ghosts around us with Yvette Fielding and the Most Haunted crowd. Don't ask me what's going to happen because I have never even watched an episode but the wife loves it and they are doing a live show here.
Enjoy the night everyone TTYL unless things go wrong and I am sent to the other side mwaaahahhhahhaaaa.

Miserable Monday, shave
View attachment 126074
DSCosmetic green bowl
Palmolive Classic cream
Yaqi Everest 24mm synthetic brush
Merkur 34C razor
Rainbow Super Class blade
Homemade splash (witch hazel and essential oils)
Forest Fresh ASL
Nivea Sensitive PSB
X-Bolt EDP

Miserable day, brilliant shave. Great lather (see below) and the Rainbow blade performed much better than usual. Think I’ll try it for a third use, never been tempted before. Have I just found a good one or is my technique better? Unclear, but will try another soon rather than using something different, which seems to be my default at the moment. Anyway everything worked really well together during this shave and my face was left feeling smooth and smelling terrific.

I think I’m getting the hang of this!

Is X Bolt the one that smells like Hugo Boss ??

Razor = Muhle R41
Blade = Treet Platinum ( 1 )
Brush = Highlander 26mm Timberwolf G2
Soap = B&M The Four Horsemen. War
with matching splash.
Balm = Nivea Skin Energy
IMG_3006.jpegThird soap in the Four Horsemen series and how appropriate War unfortunately.
Out of the 4 this is the darkest scent,
My wife doesn’t like it so i might just wear it all week lol.
The R41 paired with the Treet was a pleasure although my face feels a bit tender,
i might need a shaving day off.
Who knows i say that all the time & it doesn’t happen.
Anyway boys n girls stay safe wherever you are the world is a horrible place just now
