Weber Polished, Bulldog
Israeli Personna (2)
Semogue SOC 2-band
Nivea mild cream
Proraso Aftershave balm
Diptyque Philosykos edp

My first time using this Nivea shaving cream - bought in Hungary at a similar price point as Palmolive Classic cream here. It looked the bee knees - beautifully shiny and yoghurty - and it's perfectly stable, but it didn't feel slick enough. Still, I'll persevere with it. Otherwise, a very good shave - although I'll be glad to finish up this stock of in branded Personnas. I want to find alternative cheap weekend away-use blades; i.e. two uses and out.

Heavy on the Wilkinson Sword shave products today!

Prep: Shower and Bulldog face wash
Razor: Merkur 1904
Blade: Wilkinson sword Classic
Soap: Wilkinson Sword Shave Stick
Brush: Omega 48
Post: Witch Hazel/ Wilkinson Sword Post Shave Balm

I always find the Wilkie blades a bit inconsistent for me. Other than that a reasonable shave.

Semogue Owners Club 2 Band Badger
D.R. Harris Lavender Shaving Soap
Tiffany Bowl
Edwin Jagger Ivory Chatsworth
Iridium Super
Myrsol Agua Balsamica
Myrsol Emulsion

Warm shower
Hot flannel
DR Harris Arlington cream bowl lathered
Simpson Hive manchurian badger
Gillette 1939 Popular 47 OC razor
Sputnik (1)
Cold rinse
Witch hazel
DR Harris Arlington aftershave

A mostly comfortable shave. The Popular 47 has just been re plated in silver by Dave at Restored razors. I managed to get a small nick under my bottom lip today :-/ a moments lack of concentration I guess.

Soap from Aleppo - Morris & Forndran blonde badger 25X53 - Feather all stainless - Astra green #3 - Pre JASÖN - Shaving soap Proraso white - Alum block - Thayers Original Aloe - ASB Proraso - ASL Proraso.

Same set up as yesterday:

Hot flannel
Proraso pre, white
Simpson's Colonel X2L, Cella
Feather AS-D2, Personna Red (2)
Cold splash
Clinique post-shave healer

I think something clicked and I may have got it! The angle required on the AS-D2 is really extreme (more than I realised)... any more and the top of the end cap would have been skimming over my face. Apart from the fact that my face was still a bit rough after yesterday and the fact that I gave myself a small nick on my neck (my own stupid fault) it was a pretty classy shave overall.

I'm glad everything came together for you today Steve. Was concerned you were about to throw the razor in the canal :icon_rolleyes: ;)

Prep: Cold water splash
Soap: MdC
Brush: Shavemac 177 Silvertip
Razor: Weber Polished/Bulldog
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Black/Indian
Post: Speick ASB

Todays Shave

OC Gem Micromattic
Gem Blade, 3rd and last outing for that blade
MWF shaving soap
Kent BK4 Brush
Blue Stratos aftershave splash

Result BSS

I've been conducting an experiment with the Gem Razors, usually captain dimwit here would just go and use a new blade in the OC micromattic, as you may already know it can be a bit aggressive ,so by using a older blade a more comfy shave is possible, teamed up with the Fat for me at least a more relaxing shave :D

Monday:

Palmolive soap
Semogue 2012 SE
Ever Ready Streamline
GEM blade
Witch Hazel
Steve's Barbershop Bay Rum
L'Occitane Baux EdT

Smooth and comfortable, happy days!
