Thursday

Gillette face wash
Proraso pre
TOBS avacado soap
Merkur progress set to 2
Treet platinum blade (2)
Witch hazel
Nivea Balm
Blue stratos after shave

Much better shave today than yesterday with the only change being the soap maybe TOBS is better than mwf but early doors for both - tree blade seemed much smoother for this second shave

new routine for me today - i've decided to stick with a set for a month at a time so i can experience a bit of stability. Plus i want to see if can do it! I've given myself a bit of wiggle by allowing 2 "guest appearance" slots for cream/soap and razors as I won't be using some of my stuff for months.

this month's fixed items are -

*Erasmic shave cream
*Merkur 43C
*Isana boar brush

pre/post shave and blades can vary. Today's were -

*Glycerin soap face wash
*Polsilver Super Iridium (4)
*Witch Hazel
*Quicksilver balm
*edt - Man - classic silver (kouros type scent)

it felt good to be starting on my new regime. Erasmic cream is a great performer but gets little love because I have other soaps i prefer to use. Whipped up a thick lather in a bowl and off i went. 4 passes as the blade was on it's last legs. nice smooth finish.

Prep face wash Dove shea butter
Razor "G' TOWA T' 7/8
Strop Kanayama cordovan #8000
Brush Semogue LE OC 2012 Boar & Badger mix
Vito's super coconut
Alum & Witch hazel
Raw shea butter & Cocoa butter
Penhaligon's castile Edt

Jamie.

Two pass shave very smooth finish.

Cella
Henk walnut silvertip
Schick M injector and Trac II (second shave)
Arko Maximum Comfort a/s

Very nice shave. I did start off with a Progress and Supermax Blue Diamond on 2 but it seemed to be taking ages to remove the hair.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage rebranded Simpsons best
'Webly'/ Wilkinson Sword Edge (NOS)
Surrey SS (pre VDH reformulation)
Neutrogena oil free moisture
Tom Ford 'Azure Lime' EdP

Same razor/blade combo these last 5 shaves or so. No drama with this set up.....one I could easily use every day. Heh, man, these 50+ year old blades are pretty darn good I gotta say.

BBS results,

Martin

Afternoon, everyone.

Thursday:

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: EJDE89 with iKon Bulldog handle, shimmed
Blade: Super Max Blue Diamond (6)
Brush: Ecotools Kabuki
Shave cream: Ingram
A/S: Royall Muske
Cologne: Halston I-12

Hot water wash with Nanny's Ice and Slice soap.
Face lather with Frank Silvertip and L'occitane Cade cream
#77 New Long Comb plus Personna Med Prep blade
Nanny's Neroli Post Shave Hydration
Barbers Shop Moisturazor
Viktor & Rolf's Spice Bomb A/S

Retired the Med Prep after it's 5th shave. Only now starting to see the difference between the Med and the Lab Blue. Most blades I get 2 shaves before binning them, Polsilvers and Lab Blues give 3/4, but the Med Preps are consistently giving 5/6 shaves before showing any deterioration. Could easily get 7th reasonable shave from them.
Nice 2 pass shave.

Prep: Cold Water Face Wash w/ Glycerine Soap
Soap: Martin de Candre
Brush: Shavemac 177 Silvertip
Razor: Feather AS-D2
Blade: Personna Med Prep (2)
Post: Thayers Cucumber WH, Clinique Post-Shave Healer, Clinique M Lotion

Drama-free shave with Feather AS-D2. It takes me a little longer to achieve a close shave compared to my other razors, but it's by far the smoothest tool I own.

Warm shower
Hot flannel
Sir Irisch moos cream scuttle lathered
Simpson Colonel X2L best badger brush
Gillette 1955 Redtip Superspeed
Voskhod (3)
Cold rinse
Witch hazel
Sir Irisch moos aftershave balsam

Comfortable, smooth and irritation free shave.

Brian

Hot flannel
Proraso pre, white
NF 1901 brush, LEA stick
Weber polished, Rapira SS (2)
Cold splash, alum block
Clinique post-shave healer

First time with the LEA stick... took some work just to get acceptable and I couldn't get the luxurious lather I'm used to with all my other soaps. It's dead cheap but not a patch on Tabac... so it's going to be consigned to my PIF drawer for now. Results OK though... a DFS+

Hi Mikey,

I remember seeing those pics of your two kitties, right after you shaved em both at the start of last summer. It was gruesome.

Martini

Yeah, they always look funny when you shave them :D

They also look funny when they lick themselfs, kind off anyway:

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: Simpson
Razor E A Berg
Soap: Castle Forbes
AS: Williams
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean indeed :D

One of the later Erik Anton Berg Razors from Eskilstuna and a replica of a 3 000 - 3 500 yrs old razor found in Sweden, from the bronze age, the former has a really flexible grind, for a Swede and is a great shaver as well :D

Musgo Real glyce classic soap
DLC / JEC Copper handle / Vintage Perma Sharp
Simpsons 'Rover' Manchurian Butterscotch
Martin De Candre
Witch Hazel+

Very nice, very nice indeed.
