(Face & Head Shave)

A new shave set up to start the weekend....The Proraso Blue shaving cream created a nice creamy slick protective lather with only a small amount in a short space of time The residual slickness is superb leaving an excellent post-shave feel to my mature skin.

An acceptable close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off a with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine. ;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

Saturday 20 January
Used a London Bridge blade today for the first time, (what a weird name to put on a razor blade wrapper  , why not Waterloo Bridge or Tower Bridge?)
Anyway I digress, it was sharp and coupled with the Razorine Flat Boy gave a really close 2 pass bbs shave. The soap was creamy smooth with a distinctive and pleasing scent. However, the brush is new/old so still a bit at rough end of the badger stage and left some mild irritation which moisturiser soon calmed.
Have a great weekend fellas!

PreShave: Hot water—from the tap
Cream: Highgrove by Truefitt and Hill
Brush: A synthetic brush supplied with the below
Bowl: A new pewter mug given to me by my wife
Razor: Merkur 23C
Blade: London Bridge
Post Shave: Alum

The London Bridge was one of my travel acquisitions. I bought it in a small shop in Indonesia. It’s the Indian made version, albeit with the orange wrapper. A good blade, making for an excellent shave, the Highgrove is excellent cream: T&H at its best, with a nice cedar fragrance.

Brush: Highlander Chubby
Soap: A&E The Novelist
Razor: Frederick Reynolds Swayback
Post: A&E The Novelist AS & HDP 1899

Exactly the same setup from my last post on Monday but one slight update. The strop wasn't quite bringing the edge back to life so decided to give my new acquisition from JJShaves a bash, a chunky 3inch premium miniog. A few go arounds followed by the standard stropping and off I went. Absolutely fantastic and effortless shave, the ATG pass in particular was incredibly smooth. A bloomin good purchase at a bargain price!

Hope everyone has a grand day.

Cheers

The Stainless Karve works very well for me.
This new blade seemed to take a couple of passes to smooth out, strange how that happens now and again.
Enjoy your day all.

Well what a shave this was & not in a good way.
I received some blades from @Bruce the other day which i’m very grateful for.
Gillette Goal which i haven’t heard of,
I made a comment that they looked like Gillette Super Thins and @Bruce kindly sent me some to make my own mind up.
The packaging is Suoer Thins for sure with the only difference being the Goal.
Both also Platinum.
On first stroke i thought these are decent
then after a few strokes i turned the razor and had the most dreadful experience.
The blade was blunt, tuggy & everything else we don’t get from modern blades.
i persevered for another couple of strokes but had to stop as it was ripping me to bits.
Now i’m not to keen on the Timeless so this had my mind thinking is it the blade or razor although i knew all along it was the blade.
I swapped the razor out for the Feather AS-D2 but nope still the same experience from one side of the blade only.
I quickly swapped the blade out to a Nacet and continued with my first pass.
What a difference totally night & day.
i’m going to try this blade again tomorrow,
not the same blade that’s in the bank but another from the same box.
I’m hoping this one blade has escaped the qc department but who knows.
Over all after my experience with this blade i still had a terrific shave although this will probably be my last shave with the Timeless before i stick it on the BST.
i’m in a habit of keeping stuff i’m not using so they are better off with people that will use & appreciate.
Until Tomorrow Stay Safe
