(Face & Head Shave)

New Shave set up to start the weekend. It's been a while since I last used the Mühle R41. Using the lightest of touch it mowed through my face stubble with effortless ease with no irritation weepers, or cuts.

"What a wonderfully efficient shaving tool the Mühle R41 is". I need to start using this razor more often.

The Feather Hi Stainless are superb blades but only give me two amazingly very smooth & efficient shaves, then the longevity & smoothness of them deteriorates, which isn't a big issue for me. I'm not a one to push a blade to just get an extra shave from it. I always have "Quality, rather than quantity" in mind with any blade I'm shaving with regardless of its cost or reputation.

I find over-sharpness in a blade is an Achilles heel and burns out quickly that's why I prefer DE blades that are slightly less sharp as in my personal opinion they keep their cutting edge longer & overall are more durable to use.

A close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Ard Al Zafran Dirham Oud EDP to the pulse points.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

An early start this morning rising with the dawn. It was very fresh outdoors. The Duke 3 in Simpsons Platinum Fibre (Synthetic Bristle) is a lathering monster and the Merkur 39c is an excellent razor, way more capable than its price point might suggest. Two easy, light passes and I was smooth. A dob of Proraso and a spray of Sauvage and I was good to go.

Staying on message, another oc today. A recent low-cost purchase on eBay is this A S & Co WW2 British army issue utility razor. It’s made of some sort of light alloy. It probably has some zinc in it and the finish is how should I say, pretty rough? The teeth are quite chunky and reminiscent of the Gillette 7 o’clock OC razor. I didn’t know what to expect but put the soap to face and blade to razor. To my surprise and delight the performance of this utilitarian razor was magnificent. Virtually bbs from one pass, but I did go back atg to see how much more might be removed which was not a lot. Yet another example, not that we need it, that we do not need to spend megabucks on fancy modern razors when these amazing old boys can do the job just as well if not better. Obviously a good blade can make a big difference and the blade used as a Personna USA which is top of my favourite list.
I’ve shown a 1945 British army issue brush but did not use it as it’s a bit fragile and the bristles are probably strong enough for paint removal.

Have a great weekend fellas!
