Well, day 2 of a Feather. It's consistent with other experiences of Feather blades, in that day 1 is glorious, day 2 the blade may as well be a piece of 80 grit sand paper. Rougher than a badgers bottom the blade was today. That said, the lather was great again, the oil helpful in keeping the skin moist to some degree. WTG and XTG no problem really, but the ATG pass was where the blade roughness was apparent. This mornings results are limited to a DFS above the jawline and not quite as good below due to the blade.

Result? 4/5. Typical experience of a 2nd day Feather, nowhere near as good as day 1.

If every shave could be a good as today's I would be an SE convert. Everything fell into place this morning making an enjoyable, relaxing shave with a lovely BBS finish.
However real life tells me that serendipity plays a large part in my shaves, especially as I like to change around my combinations of hardware and software. No more to be said except - "Nice one Cyril, let's have another one".

Missed shaving yesterday,as had sore throat and took to my bed. Thought shaving today would be theraputic , not sure now. The shave went easily and the results good.

I lost the top cap of the Ikon DLC OC and thought the razor would be rendered useless until a member of this forum advised me that the top cap of the Feather ASD-2 was interchangeable with the deluxe Ikon DLC.
So with some trepidation this morning a created a Frankenrazor using the handle and the top cap of the said Feather and the baseplate of the Ikon.
What a result, BBS in 2 passes with some touch ups around the throat and jawline. The razor looks lovely, performed excellently and has actually made the Feather a useful addition to the razor collection, as previously I have been unable to get a decent shave out of the thing!!!!
So a big thanks to TSR and cheesepiece.

Magic shave. Razor, blade and soap were all wonderful together - truly super smooth! Thanks again to Carl for the goodies! Mater has this habit of thinking I'm a teenager again and keeps tidying things that don't need tidying in my room. She put the little box of goodies that Carl sent into a posh Merry Christmas lidded box which now lives atop my wardrobe. Every time I dip into it, it really does feel like Christmas! :D

Martin the monkey thrower's kind gift of the vintage OS is being rationed but after that particularly good rasp, nothing else felt worthy enough to dab behind me ears...

What are the chances of you ever posting a crap SotD photo full of tasteless, naff shaving gear that no-one lusts after? More remote than the Kuiper Belt methinks! Those varlet brushes are utterly stunning and your razors like the Wolfman above and yon OneBlade are very sexy indeed. Add to that the posh soaps and classy photos, it all makes me quite green with envy. Please stop it at once! :D
