GFT Eucris Shaving Soap

Ever Ready 1914 & Gem Damaskeene (3)

Pinaud Lilac Vegetal
GFT Eucris EDT

Face Lathered
Two Pass - WTG & WTG (Slide)

Third run with this vintage Damaskeene blade and smoother still, but perhaps not as close. Perhaps it was the razor, which I had to apply quite some pressure to get my chin down to the same level as the rest of my face. In hindsight, this is one shave I really considered a one pass with, one pass back up against the grain.

I'll see how it flies in a 1924 next.

Wednesday
Morning, chaps.
Prep: Pears
Razor: EJ DE89
Blade: Tesco own brand (5)
Brush: Kabuki Bamboo
Shave soap: Wilkinson Sword Blue Bowl
Aftershave: Pashana bay Rum
Cologne: Black Jeans
I put a bit more work into charging the brush with the Wilkinson Sword soap than I usually do with my other stuff and got a really good, virtually BBS, shave.

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso sensitive
Soap: Proraso Green
Bowl: Woodhead Pedestal
Brush: Traditional Shave co. badger
Razor: Schick Injector E2
Blade: Schick Injector Plus Plat (5)
After: WH, Proraso AS, St. James - Mandarin & Patchouli ASB

Last time I used this razor/blade combination I had a really rough shave and almost gave up using the Schick E2. Today's shave though was a complete reversal from the last time. Maybe it was the Proraso lather giving more protection but I think using the razor at a greater angle to the skin is the answer.
Schick's instructions are to use the blade almost flat against the face but it just seems too aggressive for me. Increasing the angle (i.e. handle closer the the face) seems to give a much smoother and more pleasant experience. The result was a nice close BBS.
Sometimes you need a different angle to get the full picture.

Still under the weather, decided to try Travel Razor [ Carry On ], a just in case if the hold luggage/gets delayed/lost . Has happened before.

Kent Infinity Silvertex
Lea Menthol
Feather Neo F2
Feather Cart 2 Blade [2]
La Toja A/S
Second use of this razor, very good on cheeks, harder under neck I need to determine when to use it Fixed/Pivoted. Quite a reasonable shave achieved, but not really much quicker than with my usual SE.However, the shave was very smooth and no post shave discomfort / irritation.

Shave & Scent of the day with:
Soap: Saponificio Varesino Special Edition Soap

Razor: ATT Atlas R1
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum (1st)
Post #1: Mario Badescu After Shave Moisturizer

The performance is great on this SE soap but scent is spectacular!

Hot towel
Body Shop Maca Root Shave Cream

3 Pass W, X, ATG

Alcolado Glacial / Witch Hazel Blend
Gillette Series Moisturiser

The Maca Root cream has a really pleasant scent and performance plus (being a tight git) it's cheap.
The Standard / Personna LB combo is sublime.
