What are you drinking tonight.

Starting early today with some Nora Italian beer, came 2nd in the international section of the Great British Beer Festival. The aroma is peppery with notes of vetiver and earth i kid you not, the taste is to die for.

Tebay (yes, the Motorway services) ale. Brewed for them by the Eden Brewery in Cumbria. Some are good, but the festive one with cloves and ginger.. not so much.

Decaff filter coffee due to aiming for a 'Dry January.' It's Day 1 and I'm not HP. Perhaps once the health benefits start to kick in things will look up. Meanwhile I'll be laying in plenty of fizzy water and fruit squash :)

As we were passing I called in and got some to try... Agree the festive one is an acquired taste, the others slipped down a treat though. May have to investigate Brougham Hall brewery further too...

I've not had Tebay but I'd agree that the few festive real ales I've tried over the last couple of weeks were definitely not session ales and one pint was more than enough. I'm lucky in that my regular drinking hole (The Cricketers in St.Helens) has been grabbing CAMRA awards left, right and centre the last couple of years. And further more an excellent local brewery (George Wrights - Rainford) has just took over a pub within a 10 minute walk of the Cricketers and the reports are very good.

Tonight I'll be drinking wine. I'm on some white stuff at the moment but I'll no doubt be changing colour after as we're just polishing off the festive seasons leftovers - I'm not exactly a connoisseur of the grape:oops:

We're both off work tomorrow so it's a rare opportunity for us to both drink a bit more than we should.:D
