pass around Rocnel SE-G

Prep....Shower~Olive Oil soap
Razor ....Rocnel SE-G
Blade.....Gem SS
Soap....Figaro P.160 Tallow NOS
Brush....Razorock Synthic
Bowl....Little Wren Pottery
Post .....BBA PS Balm
Scent....bond number 9 New York , oil from Mr Perfume

Shave one......
Ok so the blade only wants to go in one way, got stuck and had to yank it out..... Not a good start, turn the blade around and in it went!
Lathered up with the great P.160 a great Italian soap so I used my Italian flag coloured Razorock synth. Lovely brush.
The shave, lots of blade feel, slightly uncomfortable comb but a very close shave, I did pick up two small scratches on my cheek about 3mm long , I don't know how but it happend and I noticed a few blood spots here and there, so out with the alum.
I got a very close shave, maybe too close but it's my first shave with this razor so I will put it down to user error this time.
I have that tingly face feel that you get when you have over done it but the BBA PS Balm helped a great deal but it's still tingling :)
Tomorrow I will use a Pal Super blade and see how things go.
Finished with number 9 New York rubbed here and there , wonderful scent.
So untill tomorrow ....

Wishing one and all a great day........:)

@Ferry-shave Tag as requested mate.

@Blademonkey Cheers, I enjoyed reading your post - the set up looks excellent. Sorry to hear about the scratching - that is my main frustration with this razor.

Did you go for multiple passes and in terms of angle, did you ride the cap, so to speak?

Thanks again,

Chris

Morning shave.

Nivea Face Wash, BBA Shave Oil, bloom water.
P&B Imperial Rum.
RazoRock Bruce 24mm Synthetic.
Fatboy (5).
Rapira SS (3).
Extro Bay Rum Aftershave/EDT.
BBA Balm.

I enjoyed my shave so much yesterday that I decided to use the same set up. The result was another fine shave. My skin has looked and felt so much better since I started DE shaving around 10 months ago. But I must say, the BBA Post Shave Balm has taken it to another level. Sensational stuff!

Yes I did a three pass shave and rode the cap and thought I used zero pressure but it still bit me....but as I said, it was my first use of this razor so I am not too put out by the experience. I'm going to use a more skin friendly blade tomorrow so we shall see what happens then.
I will keep you posted Chris as to my progress with this razor.
Thank you for your comments. :) P.

Cheers - happy shaving!

Tuesday's shave :)

Pre-shave - Shower and face wash with Wright's Cold Tar Soap, followed by Warm water.
Razor - ATT SE1
Blade - KAI Captain Titan Mild (Pink) (day 3),
Soap - Executive Shaving - Natural Shave Cream.
Brush - Omega "Hi-Brush" Synthetic Fibre Shaving Brush, "Barber Pole".
Bowl - Little Wren Pottery shave bowl.
Post shave - OSP Aftershave Tonic - Eucalyptus and Menthol.

A very nice 3 pass shave this morning: WTG; ATG and XTG.

The quality of my lathers from using a ceramic shave bowl are most impressive, if I may say so. Decided to omit pre-shave oil today, the lather on the skin felt divine: excellent protection and glide. Also decided to just go for some OSP splash to finish off - no Aloe Vera or balm. Skin feels nice: supple, and fresh.

The Little Wren shave bowl is making a real difference. I would not have come across that, if it were not for my (almost) daily drop-ins into the shave of the day thread :)

All the best,

Chris
