Happy Christmas Eve, chaps!

I thought I'd better get around to using my recently acquired Gillette Ranger Tech before @Bogeyman started shouting at me for buying a razor I had little intention of using. It's nice enough. Lighter that the Rocket and actually the lack of end caps doesn't bother me, which I thought it would. With the Gillette London Bridge strapped in, I got a close and comfortable shave - the razor seemed to suit the blade very well indeed.

Sorta special day, so I busted out the vintage goodies ...

The fantastic aroma from the soap, filled up the bathroom even though it was just a sample puck...amplified by the matching splash. The lather whip-up by the awesome soft boar brush is perfectly creamy and slick!
Today's shave with this razor feels buttery smooth after combining LaLune + 0.1um balsa. The edge felt even better in 3 excellent passes for a bbs-ccs finish...

Face Lather.
Bowl: Home Bargains Stainless Steel Side Bowl.
Lather: Palmolive Classic Shave Stick.
Blade: Super-Max Blue Diamond Titanium. (D2)
Razor: Parker 55SL Semi-Slant.

Christmas Day Greetings,

As on all Christmas day's since i was a kid, i have always been a early riser due to the festive excitement, now it's my ageing body clock that awakes me.

To be totally honest unlike most people I assume, I don't do Christmas anymore. I know for fortunate people it's full of joy and plenty especially for most children and yet so painful and horrible for others.

However, as they say in my neck of the woods 'I'll put a face on' for the Christmas festive season so I don't spoil it for the people who still enjoy it, and most importantly for those who still think Santa Claus is the real deal. Which is something that should never be spoilt as for a child it's the best feeling in the world.

A wonderful Christmas day shave with some of my favourite new old, and infrequently used wet shaving assortments.

The humble grated Palmolive classic shave stick provided a superb protective lather in a short space of time leaving a good post shave feel.

Finishing to the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.

Later, but soon i will be venturing out to the family gathering to help prepare the Christmas dinner, my multi tasking-skills come in useful at certain times' and take part in the festive activities, then as i always try to do, catch up on some well earned rest.

Well said Barry, I'll be putting a face on as me and the freshly ex Hotmetalina spend Christmas with friends to whom nothing has been said. Let's hope the bevvies don't cause the mask or tongue to slip! At least the face I've put on is BBS this morning lol! And my mate is a very good cook so said face will be getting stuffed just as Santa stuffs a stocking!

In spite of many things, Christmas still is a special thing for me so I've selected my favourite things to shave with. (OK probably my Koraat is my favourite razor but wants attention so SE it is).

I wish you all fun, or peace, or whatever you wish for yourselves.

I'll tell you what was in them. A bunch of salty arsed sailors with few quid in their back pocket and an evening's intention of 'Any port in a storm'. How would I know? I am one. And other than that I've seen enough ships on a Christmas morning to keep me happy for a bloody lifetime. Bugger that. Right, about this any place in a storm........

In amongst this rubbish, did I actually shave? Of course I did and what a most wonderful start to the day.

Did I mention it also happens to be not just a Christmas shave but also my birthday shave. Sixty something and still never got much further than thirteen.
