Acquisitions 1st Feb - 29th Feb 2016

Another antique shop, it was a bit disappointing, they also had several Rolls razors, I was tempted but did not go for them. Not even the one in the cardboard box with an instruction manual! I found the Palmolives for 50p each in the Tesco express around the corner.

Super! You'll want the instruction manual because DD shaving does break one of the cardinal rules: pressure ...

Thank that's much appreciated. [emoji2]

I hadn't planned this, but now that I've got the Durham I was hoping that it would help me to eventually transition to straights. No rush though, I have lots of safety razors to try out first!

I had a Gillette Slim arrive yesterday which was quite grubby and squeaky. So I spent some time cleaning it up by putting it in an ultrasonic cleaner with washing up liquid for a while after and soaking it overnight. Today I've given it a good going over with an old toothbrush and autosol. I'm pleased with the results and it has come up lovely. Will try it out this week and see how it shaves.

I got me these beauties from @Shaving Station in the post yesterday, with some samples of a Barrister & Mann splash:

Faena Mastic Tree

First impressions are superb. The Moroccan Sands scent is mindblowing, the Mastic Tree scent is fresh and heady. Currently doing a weeks worth of shaves with the Faena to start, reviews to follow once trialled for a while :)

If you are interested in trying a Rolls Razor there is a chap on ebay (not me and very helpful) who is selling them refurbished for immediate use. I'm not sure if he has anything listed at the moment, they cost a bit more than the majority but you are paying for the fact that the blade has been honed super-sharp - believe me!

There is a hidden rule here. Without pictures, it didn't happen ;)

I'm sure you'll love a bit of Faena, it's a great performer.
