Thunderbirds are Go. I just received a 59.5g (birth year and quarter) Gillette Tech. A ball end Tech?
Took a punt on fleabay and it arrived, not particularly well packed but, looks fairly new.
Slight, not too obvious, "defect" (metal snot) on head but otherwise I'm happy.
Bit of razor overhang which I'm not used to but what the hey.
Will give it a test run over the weekend.

That Tech was made 2nd quarter of '57. Best daily razor IMO.

Looks pretty good, I wouldn't worry about the blade overhang, I've never caught myself with the tabs. Likewise that little bump on the top cap is probably never going to touch your face when the blade angle is correct, so probably a non issue. A ball end Tech is a real 'desert island' razor day in day out.

Darn. It was advertised as a G2. Now that I've had a magnifying glass on it I notice it is a C2. "No returns" so Caveat Emptor and all that...

Takes the shine off the purchase a bit although remains a good piece of kit.

You can return it irrespective of the seller stating no returns, it's a C2 not a G2, so it's an item not as described, the seller has to pay the reurn postage too.

Not an acquisition as such but I'm very happy to have found this under the blade bank in my Gillette Rocket HD case ...

I recall the Rhino being a really excellent shave and lamented it being no longer available, so really excited to have one last hurrah. I wonder actually if it has wound up as one of the the Shanghai varieties now available, like the London Bridge or the Super Gillette Blue. It might even be pants and my memory is flawed.

Anybody remember Rhino?
