RE: Album's (Cd's)

The first three, no five, no EIGHT! that came to mind just now were:

Divine Comedy - Promenade
They Might Be Giants - Lincoln
Saint Etienne - Tiger Bay
Trip Shakespeare - Across The Universe
Sugar - Sugar
Richard Thompson - Rumor and Sigh
Jellyfish - Bellybutton
One Dove - Morning Dove White

I started with three then kept thinking of albums that, to me, are brilliant. No idea if they can be classed a classic, but there are one or two contenders there.

Sugar, Sugar - wasn't that by The Archies?

:icon_razz: Heehee, think I meant to write Copper Blue anyway. Don't know why I remembered it as eponymous. :icon_rolleyes:

1 = Yes (But then did you ever doubt?)
2 = Yes
3 = Yes
4 = Yes
5 = Yes
6 = Yes
7 = Artist yes but not this album
8 = Yes
9 = Yes
10 = Yes

Varied genres and not in my book all "givens"; although I'm sure you would beg to differ, so 9 out of 10 entries is very impressive.

I do indeed have a very varied selection of Genres and that's just a taster.

Heard Noel Gallagher say the other day that he would trade his writing success to date to have been able to write/produce Never Mind The Boll***s.

Knew that both brothers idolise The Beatles (John Lennon in particular) but not that Noel held this album in such high esteem.

I have a large collection of albums ranging across classical, opera, jazz and pop music. And yet thinking about this my odd one out that comes to mind is:

Metallica - "The Black Album" - so different to the rest of my collection but might just be the last one I'd get rid of.

Now Joni Mitchell is an artist that I haven't explored much, and for my sins would only refer to Big Yellow Taxi if someone asked me about her, but I have just ordered a collection set of 10 of her studio albums (Cd's) from Amazon for £28.00.

Reviews read good, and as 4 of the albums feature in my book of 1001 to hear before I leave this mortal coil I'm hoping to be pleasently surprised.

Just had John Cleese and the parrot sketch going through my head as I typed the above and also thoughts of my daughter asking me what I find so funny as I laugh out loud when watching it, although she has asked me the same question before when i've been watching Fawlty Towers and Tommy Cooper!

Rob Dougan - Furious Angels

Sigur Ros - Takk...

Mastodon - Cracke The Skye

Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine

Queens of The Stone Age - Songs For The Dead

Fantastic albums should be in any list

They are in there but not this album.
