Ironically, for once I was not being ironic (or sarcastic, tetchy, bitchy, egocentric or all round generally 'special'), I was in fact agreeing wholeheartedly - that's why I 'liked' it.

So far in performance and after shave feel best soap that I tried, bowl leather without problem.
Managed to convert my olther brother in wetshaving about month ago, given him MWF and he leather it without problems.

I agree, there are probably more variables than just the water we need to consider...brush type, load time, lather method, bloomed v non bloomed.

I can only get it to work if bloomed over night and lathered with a boar!
Another great hard soap to try which I think has the edge in cushion and scent (prepare to be chastised) is Tabac.
