Interesting shave that might have changed my opinion on some items. Very close, no irritation, but there were a couple of nicks and it was generally uncomfortable.

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso pre-shave - sensitive
Soap: NSS - Down Home Summer
Bowl: Woodhead Pedestal
Brush: Omega boar 10005
Razor: ATT R2 Kronos
Blade: Gillette Rubie (1)
After: Speick Active AS, Cade ASB

I've not used a Rubie blade for a long time (because I ran out) and I'd forgotten just have great they are. My top blade I'd say and paired with this razor gave me the best shave I've had in quite a while.
Nanny's Silly Soap provided me with a perfect balance of slickness and protection and matched well with the Cade ASB.

Enjoy the remains of the weekend, folks.

Monday 23rd February 2015
Prep: Shower
Razor: Joseph Elliot 6/8th
Brush: Vulfix 404 Mixed
Soap: Vitos Super Extra
Aftershave: Astral Cream (light)
EDT: Cerruti 1881

By way of an experiment I did not strop the razor on leather prior to this shave but made fifty laps on newspaper stretched taught on balsa. My knowledge/experience level is not really advanced enough to make a definitive judgement about the result but I believe it resulted in a sharper but fiercer and less smooth edge.

Regards
Dick.

Brush: Rod Neep Cocobolo Chubby #856 Extra Silvertip
Razor: Mongoose Satin w/Dr. Bomber handle
Blade: Feather Super (8)
Post: Thayer's witch hazel, followed by Chesapeake Bay Spyce ASL
VERY fragrant shave today. The RP soap has lots of cinnamon, cloves and ginger; powerful stuff. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with any skin sensitivity at all.
Matches great with the bay-berry Spyce. Blade still has lots of life left in it. Smooth BBS.

Used my "Mystery Roller Guard razor from Argentina" for the first time today - and will use it exclusively all week to really give it a shot at remaining in my collection :)

Razor: "Mystery razor from Argentina"
