Very nice luxurious 3-pass BBS. Got today off, so didn't need to shave but I love this brush so I couldn't help myself.
Happy Thanksgiving Day everyone. I am thankful for my loving family and the job that I enjoy.

27 November Shave - Thanksgiving Day

A nice quick shave. The Omega Pro 49 worked up a good lather with The Shave Den Vanilla. The Long Handled SA with the Big Ben behaved flawlessly. Only a one pass DFS for a Thanksgiving day in which I rested most of the morning, with my injured leg elevated to continue the healing process.

Prep: Hot wash with dove soap.
Soap: Stirling Naked and Smooth.
Brush: Vie-Long Horse Hair Brush.
Razor 1: Kropp 6/8.
Razor 2: 1966 Gillette Slim Adjustable #4
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue #2.
Post: M&S Woodspice Balm.

2 pass shave with the straight and some buffing on upper lip and chin. Finished with 1 ATG pass with my adjustable. I was ok until the ATG pass with my adjustable i think it was one too many, it left some irritation but nothing the balm couldn't sooth. I think I am getting to the point where the DE will no longer be needed but we will see.

Friday 28th November 2014
Prep: Shower
Razor: GEM Heavy Flat Top
Blade: GEM Stainless Coated
Brush: Burma Shave Boar
Soap: Vitos Extra Super (Red)
EDT: CK Obsession

My first use of the Vitos soap and my initial impression is that it performs really well and I like the strong almond scent. It is a about a year since I used up my Cella and I am trying to recall from memory if the scent is significantly different, I think the Vitos is a stronger scent but trying to hold a scent in ones memory for a year is not easy

I am glad I like it because I now own a kilo!

Regards
Dick.

Tablack Friday Shave

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Zirh pre-shave oil
Soap: Tabac
Bowl: Woodhead Pedestal
Brush: Vie-Long Horse Hair 13061M
Razor: Stahly head + templ8 handle
Blade: Feather (1) + PAL shim
After: Floid Black AS, Tabac ASB

Still really enjoying this horse-hair brush on its third outing. I've not noticed a horsey aroma at all during these shaves and it's not shed a single hair so far.
Wanting to give this Stahly head a little more bite, I paired a feather blade with a thick PAL blade shim. The shave feel was a tad scratchy but ok, result I'd say BBS but not as smooth a shave as I'd like, once again the feather must take a back step while I try other brands.
I think I'm growing to like Floid Black AS, I get the the odd whiff of it during the day, usually while faceterbating, which is nice.

Have a great day and shop on.

Cella has a strong almondy marzipan scent whereas Vitos has a creamy vanilla almond scent.

Friday

Afternoon, everybody.

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Yuma
Blade: Tesco own band (7)
Brush: Kabuki Bamboo
Shave soap: QED Special 218
Aftershave: Brut
Cologne: Brut

The last of a fine week of shaves with this razor.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage amber Made Rite #74 badger
Webgoose/Feather Pro
Beter shaving stick used like soap (vintage)
Malizia Vetyver AS and more used like cologne

Last few shaves I have been using the Weber long handle with a Mongoose head combo. Strange angle needed for this head......not much like an injector or DE. Right now it kinda reminds me of the way the 1912 SE razor needs to be used.

Maybe a review after a couple more times.

BBS results,

Martin
