S.O.T.D. Saturday 22th June to Friday 28th June 2013 ...

Hot shower & 3P cream
Palmolive Stick pass 1 & 2 Cream for pass 3
Unknown Open Comb Razor
Gillette Yellow (1)
Semogue 1305
Witch Hazel
Paco Rabanne XS AS

An interesting first shave with this old razor, not enough lather for a 3rd pass so used some palmolive cream

Weber Polished
Ladas (4)
Gillette Sensor
SOC 2-band
MdC (Scented)
Proraso ASB

Ditched the Ladas after the first pass and grabbed the Sensor. I ought to have known not to bother. I rather hope this was just a dud blade, as I've a Unuta77 packet to get through at some point in time, and I suspect that it is. I can make most blades stretch past 4 shaves but this was fairly atrocious from the very first past - almost Laser like. The Sensor didn't really make amends but, rather than push another pass, I called it a bad day at the sink and threw the towel in.

This morning:

Prep: Cold rinse
Razor: Kinfolks Blue Steel Special, 5/8"
Brush: Vie-Long Horse 13070
Cream: Body Shop Maca Root

Thought I'd give this brush another try, and with a cream it was actually ok. Good, it's a beautiful object.

Friday xxviii June, 2013

Prep: Shower with Savon de Provence Shea Butter Soap
Pre: Cold water splash
Brush: Kent Infinity Silvertex Synthetic
Soap: Palmolive / La Toja Frankensoap
Razor: Merkur 46C Travel
Blade: Schick #1
Post: Thayers Medicated WH, Zirh Post Shave Solution
ASL: Penhaligon's Endymion

Result: First time with a Schick and it felt pretty good. That said, everything feels good with the Palmolive / La Toja soap combo. DFS, I would say.

Have a nice day, gents...

Jon

This morning:

Prep: Cold rinse
Razor: Myers & Son 6/8"  hollow ground
Brush: Neep #1156 cocobolo chubby 24mm extra silvertip
Soap: Prof Blighty's Rosewood

Start of the first pass on the right-hand side, applied razor to cheekbone and then unexpectedly sneezed. It's a lovely long straight cut, though (and not seriously deep, happily).

Thursday night
