S.O.T.D. Saturday 22th June to Friday 28th June 2013 ...

Morning all :)

Thursday 27th June

Prep: Hot shower, face scrub.
Brush: NF 2213 48mm loft.
Cream: Palmolive- face lathered.
Razor: Old type copy.
Blade: Sputnik (2)
Post: Witch Hazel, Steve's Barbershop Bay Rum, RSC Post Shave Soothing Balm.

A lovely shave this morning. The Palmolive cream is great stuff, it makes me think I should use it more often. There's a lot of soaps/creams which I don't use for a while, then when I do I remember just how good they are! I'll do a week with this, and then move onto another forgotten soul. So much lather from a relatively small blob on the bristles.

Love this razor, too. Thanks Brian again for it, it cleared 4 days growth the other day with no effort, and left me BBS today. It seems to work well with every blade I've tried in it so far, a very good razor in my opinion.

Have a happy Thursday people!

Three pass, face lather.

For no apparently logical reason I have decided to utilize my good old 34c for a while. Its like putting on a well worn pair of shoes; so comfortable. These things don't become classics for nothing [sic]. A truly great razor.

The Ingrams will be empty tomorrow so we'll have a bash at the WARS cream a fellow member sent me and I'm really looking forward to using it again.

Delighted! Very smooth shave.

Morning, gents.

Thursday:

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: EJ89 with iKon Bulldog handle
Blade: Polsilver SI (6)
Brush: Ecotools Kabuki
Shave soap: MWF
A/S: Grey Flannel
Cologne: Grey Flannel

Another close and smooth shave, but about fifteen minutes after finishing up, my skin began to feel rather tight. When I had a look in the mirror, the skin below the jawline was spectacularly red. Haven't seen anything like that in a while, particularly with the shaving ingredients I used this morning. At the time of writing the redness is fading quickly leaving a very smooth face. But still....

A more comfortable shave today better than yesterday. I've decided to put a Rainbow blade in this razor for tomorrows shave, a little more forgiving perhaps ? The Polsilver is a fine blade but seems over sharp for this more aggressive razor. Well I will see how tomorrows set up performs :icon_confused: all in good time.
Off out later to a second classical concert in the Bradfield music festival, Emma Johnson clarinetist tonight. The Lloyd Webbers were very professional on Tuesday night I was on the front row could have shook hands that close, like having a concert in your front room :icon_razz:
