Shaving recipe for New years Day.


Prep: hot shower:/ Imperial Leather Peppermint & Eucalyptus shower gel/ warm wet flannel to my face.

Pre:

Bloom water face wash.


3 Drops of Wilkinsons Shaving Oil: / Fruits: Rhubarb & Vanilla Body Butter.


Razor: 1971 Gillette Slim Twist.


Blade: Personna (yellow) .(1)


Brush: Omega S brush S10065 .


Soap: Tabac+ 4 drops of Glycerine in the mixing bowl.



Warm wet flannel/ cold wet flannel to rinse my face.

Post:

Lavender oil/Witch Hazel Mixture./ Tabac Aftershave.


Nivea Men Sensitive Cooling Post Shave Balm.

First shave of 2017..since i started DE shaving in April 2016 i have added a few different Soaps & creams to my shaving den, and i must say if i had to choose a overall favourite, which is very hard,..i have three equal favourites.but Tabac soap & aftershave are my choice up to now..overall performance is outstanding, and IMHO for a mass produced product very hard to match..A wonderful effortless 3 pass silky smooth shave with no Errors to report, on my first shave of 2017,

Brush: custom horse hair (Vie-Long).
Shaving soap: Scheermonnik "Delftse Donderslag".
Razor: iKon El Jefe / custom aluminum handle.
Blade: Feather Professional (6).
After shave: Hugo Boss ASB.

Again a nice thick lather with this brush and soap - nice scent.
The El Jefe smoothly mows down the whiskers.
Finished with this nice ASB>

A DFS+++ result.

Mastro Livi Carbon Damascus Kamisori 5/8, French Point​

First shave of 2017 and I thought I should have used my homemade products to start the new year the right way. It was also quite a long time I was not using a kamisori made by Mastro Livi and today I chose the first one he made for me about three years and a half ago. The shave was smooth and comfortable with a very close result, it delivered a super keen shave like the first time. After all, it is a well known fact kamisoris can give a super close shave despite they are harder to use than western style razors, including symmetrical kamisoris. Here in Perugia we have the sun high in the sky but it is however quite cold so I thought the best choice to finish the shave was my Bay Rum aftershave with its warm and spicy notes seemed to be perfect to this great shave. The Classic aftershave is quite soothing, but its scent is so light as to be almost nonexistent. It is said to mimic vintage Gillette Sun Up, which I've never used.
