Warm shower
Hot flannel
Trumper's Coconut hard soap scuttle lathered
Simpson POLO 8 Best badger brush
Gillette Aristocrat adjustable set at 6
Polsilver super iridium (2)
Cold rinse
Witch hazel
Myrsol Lemon aftershave

Lovely close and smooth shave. The Aristocrat on 6 seems to be about right for me.

Sunday:

Out training on the water and in the gym all morning. Back home for a freshen up.

La Toja cream
Omega silvertip
Ever Ready Streamline
GEM blade
Witch Hazel
Pinaud Clubman
Nivea Anti-irritation ASB

Nice shave. I bowl lathered for a change and got loads of lather. There was so much lather and this brush is so big that I could have lathered the whole bathroom with ease! Pure luxury.

Now off for a couple of pints with a close friend, a good Sunday.

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso pre-shave
Soap: MFT + Bergamot EO
Brush: Semogue 630
Bowl: Steve Woodhead Pedestal #2
Razor: Merkur Progress @2
Blade: Tiger Superior Stainless (1)
After: Alum, Superdrug Forest Fresh AS, Limes Skin Food

Bergamot2_zpse309dfae.jpg

I've been experimenting with adding Essential Oils into the lather bowl to spice up plain smelling soaps & creams. Already tried Lavender and today tried with a drop of Bergamot. Works quite well, makes the lather a little special. I could still smell the Bergamot after the shave which went nicely with the Limes Skin food scent.
First time with a Tiger blade (thanks NTS), no probs with it, seemed to work well with the Progress; don't think it surpasses 7 o'clock green/yellows or Astra though.
Result: Sweet BBS.

Hope your weekends went well.

Greetings

Sunday 26th April 2013
Prep: Shower
Razor: Ever Ready Featherweight
Blade GEM Stainless Coated
Brush: Burma Shave Boar
Cream: Body Shop Maca Root
Aftershave: Body Shop Maca Root Balm

A nice hotel shave, something I really do nowadays, a well lit bathroom but the sink had a glass shelf one foot above it so rinsing your face necessitated all the water going over the floor and your feet as it was impossible to put your head over the washbasin. A well thought out design!

Regards
Dick.

Evening, everyone.

Sunday:

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: EJDE89 with iKon Bulldog handle, shimmed
Blade: Super Max Blue Diamond (2)
Brush: Ecotools Kabuki
Shave cream: Kiss My Face unscented
A/S: Mama Bear's Spellbound Woods
Cologne: Mama Bear's Spellbound Woods

Had some irritation on the left side of my throat (the most usual place if I'm going to get any irritation). Because of the shim? Because I used a spray of the EDT in my wet hand and applied it as an aftershave? Whatever, the redness faded pretty fast and left me with a very smooth, fine-looking shave.

SUNDAY EVENING

Prep: Hot flannel
Razor: CJB Kamisori\Cobra Classic
Blade: Feather Professional (14)
Brush: Dickinson & Gilroy boar
Soap: Klar Kabinett - suribachi lathered
Post shave: Witch hazel and Proraso balm

Watershed moment tonight. Two WTG passes with the kamisori and no cuts. Woo hoo!

I think this was down in large part to the excellence of the KK and the lather it generates.

Finished up with the ATG pass with the Plisskin. Gave me a very comfortable 8 tenths shave. Not BBS all over but as near as dammit without the risk of spilling claret.

ATT M1 / JEC Copper handle / Feather

A smooth 3 pass shave, definitely needed the aftershave milk after though

Razor: '48-50 Aristocrat
Blade: Feather
Brush: Erasmic Supreme Bristle
Soap: Wilkinson Sword Cream
A/S: Village Barber Balm (from pass around)

Result: This cream was a great surprise. The lather is possibly the best I've ever made from a tube of cream. It smells really clean and fresh. Definitely would be a keeper if I could find somewhere to buy it (I got it from a trade with someone in Germany).

It has also just reminded me how much better I find the Scottish PermaSharps. This was the fourth shave with the feather and my face was sore, whereas I got 7 shaves out of my last PermaSharp. Good job I had the Village Barber Balm on hand!

Also, does anyone want to try the balm (and oil)? Could do with a couple more guys in the pass around - I've got no one to send it on to!

Prep: N Spa face scrub
Cream: Crabtree & Evelyn Sienna
Brush: Edwin Jagger Chatsworth Ebony synthetic bristle
Razor: Edwin Jagger Chatsworth Barley chrome
Blade: Gillette 7 O'clock 'green'
Post: Crabtree & Evelyn Sienna balm.

A very smooth mild shave, a bit pungent though, but enjoyable.

Cella (part of fly3k's soap/cream of the week; not sure if there is/will be a separate thread for this)
Henk walnut silvertip
Fatboy (nickel) with Super Iridium (2)
Floid Genuine a/s balm

Not bad. Still getting some irritation but it's getting better. I am finding it hard to get close and smooth and close (and irritation-free) shaves with my Slim adjustable and Super adjustable
