One of the first new Feather razors has arrived, Stefan from Nassrasur in Germany has received one and is going to test it tomorrow together with the old model. It's not yet known when they will be available for us.

Thanks for the link - unfortunately, Google Translate does its usual laughable attempt at translation, resulting in amusing but hard-to-decipher pidgin English.

Thanks for the link. Looks like Dutch to me (could be a German in Dutchland I guess).
Shame us non-members can't see the pics. Perhaps if someone here is a member they could copy/screenshot the pics and upload them? I am not condoning this, just reminding people not to do it :)

Yep Google ;-) It's German btw and I won't translate it for you, must keep you guessing a bit ;-)

I'm a member but won't post any pictures, copyright by Stefan understandably. Looking forward to his test shave.

I'm going to take some convincing before I part with any cash in this direction.

The AS-D1 was too mild for me, I can't imaging the AS-D2 being a huge amount different, but we will see.

Try a Titan M1 and try to tell yourself the H1 won't be that much different - then shave with one!

The photos over on t'other site show photos of much deeper recesses in the bottom plate over the AS-D1 which presumably ensure 'perfect' blade alignment when the top plate slots through the blade to clamp it in place. I do hope they have tweaked it more than that though.

Feather's reputation is shot to bits after the AS-D1.

Couldn't get a good shave from one of those if I spent an hour doing 15 passes.

So, for that reason ... ahm oot.

Same here. It made cutting noises, but when I looked in the mirror I couldn't see any noticeable difference.

Thanks for posting the link up Snuff. :)

I'm so pleased that got a second AS-D1 recently and that it shaves perfectly for me - I really don't like the look of the AS-D2 at all.

Well IMO the old one still is the most beautifully made DE razor, and If I know the Japanese and the makers of the Feather AS - D1 they have probably read every post or thread regarding their own razor, so I'm expecting them to make the next one more suited to the western beard type, but we shall have to wait and see?
