The edge on this blade was established using the Rolls hone and strop, therefore its about as Rolls vintage as it gets.
I had a great lather as expected from this set up then set about the WTG pass, the razor was cutting quite well although it was giving feedback from the edge, not exactly tugging but you could definitely feel the edge cutting. I decided to grab one of the blades i had honed to get a comparison, LH side original, RH side my edge. I have to admit my edge felt a bit smoother/easier during the stroke although on rinse off the finish was about the same. I completed an ATG pass with both and i felt my edge was again smoother especially around the chin & top lip (XTG) area. Some XTG touch up here and there for a very good SAS finish. I did get a little indication from the splash. Its always a privilege to use one of these vintage ladies.
I have at least 4 sets, 2 of which i refurbed myself, i think i will go through them all and re-hone the blades i think necessary.
Enjoy your day all.

So here I am. Arrive charging on to the scene on a Saturday morning, full of apologies and then sod off again for another four days. And here I am on a Wednesday finding myself apologising once again. But not as though I am really sorry in any way.

My main excuse has been I have been spending my time ripping the arse out of my bike to get some Km's in. More to the point, that was until the bike seat decided to break and I nearly ended up with the bike ripping the arse out of me when a rail snapped. Fortunately I still have my sphincter intact.

Stories out of the way, what about your shaves you boring old fart? To which I will add, farting might have been a past activity.

Well, yes, I did shave (every day), took lots of photos and did Jack shit with them until now. When they were taken and in what order, I have no idea, so I'll just write any old crap which fits the bill. Somethings never change.

So with no further of those ado things this rather protracted SOTD arrives complete with the theme, 'anal extraction'

Some day or another

20240720_155635.jpg

Extractus rearus - Occams Enoch
That was a painful extraction - Kai Titan mild
Butt plug with a brush - Highlander LE 2023
Extraction cream - Proraso
Aftercare - Proraso
Ahhhhhhh - Van Cleef Rose Rouge

'Que es esta!?'

Must have been a cracking shave in every respect. They usually are, so I shall presume normal was the result.

Another day

20240721_185540.jpg
Rear razor - Muhle R89
Back end blade - Polsilver Lodz
Bum brush - Cadman 24mm Tuxedo
Crack cream - MDC Rose
Bottom balm - Simple moisturiser
Smelling of roses - C&S C88

'Windy bottom dance'

And presumable another great shave. The R89 always delivers and one of the best all round razors I know of. A shaving legend

Some day

Shaving beans - Signature Condate

Another assumptionally wonderful shave

Ah. Last night! Maybe?

Rump razor - Yaqi Excalibur
Sharp things - Something or other
Rectal brush - PAA Peregrino
Lubricating cream - Penhaligons Bayolea
Soothing ointment - Collagen
Posterior perfume - Paco Rabanne pour homme

Think I've reached the legal limit for Giphys so you will be pleased to know I shall give this section a miss.

Absolutely garbage shave with a blade of unknown quantity (other than one of) well past its sell by date. Persevere I did and shite is was.

Roll on this evening and a better effort from Team shave

Paco Rabanne because I want to do bad things

La Toja stick
Mühle travel
Gillette Adjustable E4
Gillette Silver Blue
Men’s Grooming Vetiver and Sandalwood balm

A travel themed shave safe in the confines of my own bathroom. The Mühle travel brush is floppier than a floppy thing, but it performed brilliantly with the La Toja. I suspect any shaving brush could coax a great lather from the La Toja stick, it’s that good. The Gillette pair worked their magic and two passes later I was done.

Razor - Tatara Muramasa adjustable set to 5
Blade - Gillette 7 O Clock Black
Soap - Oatcake Lavender Melt - London Shaving Soap
Brush - 2023 LE Walnut and Badger - Highlander Brushes

I've been using this wonderful razor for the past couple of weeks and I still marvel at the clever engineering that makes this adjustable razor so great.
The shave was nothing short of fantastic, close and comfortable BBS finnish.

Until the next time, take care of yourselves!

My Shave today consisted of...
Prep Freshwood pre-shave oil.
Brush Shave Factory Omega Boar.
Soap Once upon a time.
Razor Wilkinson Sword Classic.
Blade Feather (1).
Aftercare Johnny Bravo love potion.
Aftershave Jean paul gaultier Ultra Male edt.

Today I wanted to see if the Feather blade would make a difference in the razor and it did but just a little, so the FlyDear blade yesterday really did do a good job.
I tried a headshave with it as I do all my razors to see if it's a great all rounder but this was a push too far. It did an ok job but can be used in a pinch, the Leaf and Vector still remain my goto headshave razors.
That being said I can't complain and might pick up a couple more just incase this one breaks, it's too early to tell how long the plastic thread will last.
Right now off to mix up another batch of Johnny Bravo love potion because I have used up the first batch and enjoy the day everyone.
