SOTD: Saturday 22 July - Friday 28 July 2023.

27/7/23

Pre - Palmolive Sea Minerals
Soap - The One True Fat (tallow Kent)
Brush - Yaqi Cashmere 20mm
Razor - 7 O'Clock Bakelite
Blade - 7 O'Clock Sharp Edge (4)
Post - Witch Hazel
AS - Old Spice
First time using the Bakelite 7OC razor, looks like a Tech but is it a Tech? I can't answer that question, but it doesn't really shave like one. The top cap is a Tech one, but the thicker bakelite baseplate makes it a perform a little different to a Tech. It seemed to be more efficient than I expected! A nice shave though.

I'd got into a habit of using very lightly scented aftershaves and I'd been neglecting my punchier scented ones like Old Spice, so I used it today. It's great stuff.

Speick Aftershave

Same again ...

Razor = Lambada Athena
Blade = Astra Sp ( 1 )
Brush = C&H Ivory & Copper 26mm Boar
Soap = Tallow + Steel Sarsaparilla
with matching splash.
Balm = Nivea Skin Energy.

IMG_1761.jpegThis was the second time iv used the Athena,
The first time i used it was back in May and i wasn’t keen
9 weeks later i can confirm i still don’t like it,
Why i don’t know.
i find it Dragging, i find it quite tinney & cheap even although i know it’s not.
It makes a similar cheap type of sound as some of my old vintage.
This time i went with the Astra thinking i can use that with virtually anything but no not today.
In to the bargain i cut my lip my fault i know but iv also got a series of weepers that reminds me of the last time i used it.
Never Mind we can’t like everything & it’s going to be on the BST shortly,
mind you i’m not selling it well lol.
The silver lining was another new soap from the bst and another Tallow + Steel.
This one has a scent that reminds me off House Of Mammoth Damocles although a bit more smokey,
A great performer & a great new addition.
I’m going to say this is probably the worst shave iv had since this journey began.
which in a round about way is a bonus so i can shave tomorrow
Enjoy your incoming weekend

Happy anniversary Arthur @Electrif , I hope you both have a wonderful time.

Bingo!
The Signature soaps Coria is up there in my top 3 (Maybe even #1) shaving soaps, beautiful scent.
I forget that this re-knotted Erasmic is a 26mm, it does not look that big, and boy does it pick up soap. I had enough wonderfully scented thick, yoghurty lather for 4 passes, it just built and built with the knot holding a great deal.
The Kai upping the ante of the supper smooth Masamune head. 3 passes for perfection.
I finished the shave with a face wash using up the excess lather then a very nice post shave routine leaving me clean fresh and comfortably BBS.
Stay safe and enjoy your day all.
Thank you Tony. I find the Rose Geranium Essential Oil so fresh and up-lifting, never tire of it.
I’ve put it to the fore in my Capra Alavana blend.
Best Regards Brian.

A two for the price of one SOTD (see how generous I am) and this one comes loaded with the theme, 'Double sided mariglade'

One end of the story....

The big end - The Big Goose
The pointy end - Feather Super Professional
The big fur - Steven Jagger 30mm Cashmere
The Creamy end - Floris Elite
The Smelly end - Floris Elite
'Oh my oh my, lady has a fantasy and I end up with this pair?'

Two days of fluff to remove and so I called upon the Big M to come and do its duties. And boy oh boy didn't it do well. In fact it managed a climatic finish with a damn good performance of Pornographic shaving at its very best. And not all a one horse show with team lather putting in a magnificent effort with pre-show fluffing.

Wonderful end to end. And smiles at both ends.

And a double shaving show needs a double bit of Japanese lady music. Super Junky Monkey? I thought that as well

The other end of the story....

Double ended fun - Ikon B1
Which end? - Polsilver Lodz
Fluffer - AP Shaving 24mm Cashmere
Full facial - Signature Soaps Condate
Smell the glove - Chanel pour Monsieur

'Vous cherchez une dame avec un gant et un pot de lubrifiant?'

Just when I thought shaving life couldn't get any better up rattles the Ikon B1 just to prove a point. May be the Lodz was on its last legs but it still managed to put in a final superb performance before destiny sent it to the blade bank. Please note, not the same bank as once used by Nigel Farage before his debankification. Hurrah, Hurrah for sensible banking.

Condate? The new Londinium? Not far off

More Super Junky Monkey I hear you cry. Very obliging to torture your souls some more...

Bizzaro, but I love you all
Cheers Chris. Hope you’re back to your best.

According to the rules and regulations of theming things, this evening's frolicking by the sink was deemed to be awarded the theme, 'Spainsh fly and other shaving aphrodisiacs'

20230727_154159.jpg

Dysfunctional razor - Occams Enoch
Bufotenin blade - Feather Professional
Floppy brush - Highlander LFC
Love potion No.9 - Alvarez Gomez Barberia
Sensual cream - L'Occitane Cade balm
X-Hamster - Abbate Y Mantia Krokos EDC

'Take this, and this, and this. You oyster eating, viagra taking, clean shaven cad. And look I have brought all your children along for your shaming'

Other than flies I will give the Spanish full marks for ever creating Alvarez Gomez shaving soap. I suppose lathering with a bowl full of winged insects would be less than ideal, if not nigh on impossible. I do give them very low marks though for discontinuing the same. You bad bad boys. Eat flies. But I do feel honoured that I still have the best part of a jar remaining thanks to @Boycie83 and hopefully I can drag it a few more years yet. What a damn fine performing soap, a killer scent and all bashed in to shaving shape with the very capable LFC brush. Win win.

The Enoch? After a few recent less than satisfactory performances I am glad to say it is right back on song with a new Feather Pro slapped between its plates. Back to being that 'Quickest razor in the west' and not only quick, perfection delivered. Apparently I tick just the first box.

End results being as smooth as my cadish self and smelling like flies around rotting meat. Pretty good then.

I suppose if I could translate from Japanese it must go something down the road of, 'Where have you all sodded off? Oi, you by the burger van, at least give us a listen you hapless bastard. Our next song is.....' The Tuesday. Bring on Wednesday......

Brilliant shave that, i have really enjoyed using the Blackland "Big Fella" this week.
Another luscious lather, 3 passes when i could have got away with 2 and a final face wash in the excess lather.
Maybe a bit too close as i had some fleeting, minor indication from the splash today.
Belated Congratulations on your anniversary @ekeko, i hope you had a great time.
Happy Anniversary GIF

Stay safe and enjoy your day all.
Cheers and thanks Tony, 54 years on we still celebrate on this special day. 2 days actually as we married in The Hague and had the civil ceremony on 25th and the church on 26th.
