I had a 'bit of a senior moment' last night. Everything was organised for today's shave and post. It was only when I awakened this morning that I realised that today is NOT Williams Wednesday. I just stayed with the old school theme.

First shave with my new Black Ship Grooming "The 32 Pounder" plain brass DE razor was a success. Would I buy it again? No. not after the time it took too pollish out the rough edges on the base plate left by the casting process. Wet/dry #600 grit sandpaper did the trick.
The resulting shave was smooth and efficient -- BBS in two passes, WTG and ATG. The handle is heavier than I'm used to, but the razor was well balanced and easy to maneuver.

Prep: Bath and face washed with simple soap
Pre: Proraso white
Brush: Omega 49 boar
Soap: MWF face lathered
Razor/Blade: Muhle R41/ Astra green (2)
Post: alum block and cold rinse
AS: Proraso Green
Balm: Nivea sensitive

I'd not used my R41 before and was expecting a blood-bath, which fortunately never materialised. I was aware of the feel of the blade with this razor and so I was extra careful and feather-light with it. A 3-pass shave carried out with cleanup passes on side of neck.

I really like this razor so far, it is as efficient as the AS-D2 although it is a bit more involving giving the Op a bit more feedback of what is going on YMMV of course.
3 Passes for a BBS face feeler.
The post shave routine is much better than a Wednesday afternoon deserves, i feel like i am ready for a night on the razz.
