Storage for straights?

What about a cigar humidor.

I have thought about that. They tend to be the wrong kind of dimensions though -- either too small or too big for the razor length. Also, they tend to be quite deep. If I was proficient at woodwork, I could make some rails and a lift out tray. As it happens, I'm not. So I know I would just leave it lying in the corner of the room.

A humidor would otherwise be a good idea since they tend to have a seal in the lid that helps inhibit the passage of humidity. I'm hoping that this idea of building some custom storage cases will get off the ground. Otherwise, I think I'll end up getting a pen storage case instead, and relying on the rechargeable silica gel to keep the moisture at bay.

Unless I'm very much mistaken, that's a Gerstner machinist's toolbox with some custom inserts. Hard to come by in the UK, and I don't think there are any cheap imitations available, otherwise I'd have one.

My felt razor socks arrived from Olivias and are exactly what I was after. Very reasonably priced too. They will protect my straights when I need to lock them away in a cash type box away from prying fingers (wifes and daughters!)
