Same ingredients as yesterday (finished off the 25g C&S 88 travel soap but have a O&C plus another 88 in the stores)

LPL after-shave has been used nearly constantly since I got it (~2 months), works very well but I'm bored with the heaviness of the scent now.

What a Difference a Blade Makes
Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Murdock Avalon pre-shave oil
Soap: Murdock Avalon cream
Bowl: Woodhead Tall Large Scuttle
Brush: Semogue 830 boar
Razor: 1924 Shovelhead SE + Cadet handle
Blade: Gem PTFE (1)
After: Floid black AS, Murdock Avalon ASB

After two dismal shaves with the same Gem blade it was time to try another Gem to see if it was a duff one. Wow, what a difference! Today it all came together nicely and the old blade was ditched after two crap shaves.
This Shovelhead is aggressive though but manageable, just need a little care. Thanks to all those who gave advice for my recent tales of woe. Looks like this razor is a keeper after all. My favourite is still my Gem Junior Bar, BigRon told me so and he was right but I had to try some other SEs to compare.

Even my Semogue behaved well. It's kind of floppy but feels great especially with creams. It does tend to eat up the lather though which normally isn't a problem as I have lots of that but "not the Murdock, don't eat all that you brush!". I even had to add more cream for the third pass. Note to self: use my Muhle synthetic with the precious Murdock.

Keep calm and shave on, folks.

Tabac shaving bowl soap
Edwin Jagger boar
Vintage Minora blade
Long comb New
v10 aftershave balm

Stumbled across these never-tried-by-me blades during a bedroom tidy up/clear out. Initially a bit rough and not the sharpest but not as bad as that might sound; most of us use excellent modern blades all the time. I would finish the pack of five but not seek them out.

Prep- hot towel
Soap- Stirling Rose
Brush- Muhle STF2
Razor- Muhle R89
Blade- Personna 'Barber' [5]
Post- Trumpers Coral Skinfood

Impressed with brush whipping up masses of lather very easily.
