Lauterjung & Sons Puma 88 Special, 4/8 Full Hollow, Round Point

Vintage Puma straight razors have always been among my favorite ones from Solingen. They are always keen and deep, including this one that, despite it is just a 4/8, it is however capable of giving a good shave.

Gillette Tech (Fat handle, flat bottom guard plate)

Cold rinse
Thayers Lavender witch hazel
Myrsol F/Extra aftershave

What a lovely handle mate.

I wanted a nice quick faff free shave tonight.

Pre: Proraso pre\post
Razor: Feather ASD2
Blade: Polsilver SI
Brush: NF 2204
Soap: Wickham Dandyism
AS: OS Lime.

Expecting a smooth first pass, and as I was using the ASD2, I started to shave a bit quicker and and a bit more recklessly as I normally do with this razor. Imagine my surprise when I felt it biting into my neck and giving a few weepers. A quick rinse after the first pass and my neck felt very sore. Must be a duff blade I thought.
It wasn't.

I keep all my razor heads in a little compartmented box and use my favourite handle - the original Ikon OSS one - with whichever head I fancy. Tonight, instead picking up the ASD2 head, I accidently loaded the Ikon SB head. The opposite end of the scale when it comes to aggressiveness.

Oh well, live and learn.
