Wednesday xvii September, 2014

Prep: Hot shower, Zirh Alpha Hydroxy Face Wash
Pre: Splash of cold water
Brush: Neep Elm Burl Pater
Soap: Jabonman Neroli - Menta - Pomelo
Razor: Standard Black
Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum #1
Post: Myrsol Blue, Kiehl's Ultimate Men's ASB
Fragrance: Knize Forest Toilet Water

Result: OOOooo, not a great shave from the Bic Platinum. Not one for me.
On a happier note I'm off to New York early tomorrow so hoping to pick up some nice goodies like Aqua Velva and maybe Skin Bracer.... See you on the other side!

All the best,

Jon

Wednesday AM

Fat Handled Tech
Derby Extra (1)
NF 2201
Erasmic bowl soap

Nivea ASB
Cerruti 1881 EdeT

Three pass, face lathered.

As reported I did use a Derby blade today...you know, it wasn't half bad providing a bloody good shave! Frankly I was quietly pleased with myself but we'll see what it's like in two more days (I always get three days from a blade).

Well chuffed.

aqua velva musk AS

first try with the aqua velva musk and i like it a lot. nowhere near as strong as i was expecting, lovely scent and i think this will become a regular.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

rebranded horn Plisson (AOS) HMW #8
Weber classic long handle with a Roller Guard head/Feather
RL Safari SS
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
RL 'Safari' EdT (vintage juice)

Man, this after market head (1929 patent) really tames the Feather blade amazingly well. No sense of impending tragedy if I kinda drift off a bit during the shave. Makes the Feather surprisingly forgiving even with this heavy handle being involved, yet still very sharp and effective. Craziest thing.

Y'all need to try this old Safari soap sometime if you haven't already. It's got somewhat different ingredients than other soaps I've tried. Even looks unusual,

You can still buy em on ebay for under $25, which isn't bad for what you get. Top performer group for me.

BBS results,

Martin

Yup, great stuff. I've got 6 pucks in my stash and one in my not-so-modest rotation.
Thanks for reminding me to use it. Next up for tomorrow.

SOTD called for a classic shave today, so I went with the heady English Lavender Super Smooth, which was balanced with the mist of Floris No. 89 for that perfect match. Feeling very dapper and youthful now!
