Prep- Hot water splash
Soap- Catie's Bubbles LPV
Brush- SOC
Razor- Valet VC4
Blade- Feather [2]
Post- Myrsol balsamica AS

Very good two passes shave, the soap is very slick and gave a slight tingle on second application, the scent is a marmite type of thing to my nose a earthy tobacco/spicy smell (ok for me )

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

1964 rebranded Macys silvertip flopmeister
Schick F type injector/Schick Plus Platinum (1990 NOS)
Xpec unscented SC with lots of vintage Givenchy Xeryus EdT mixed in
Malizia Vetyver AS
more Malizia 'Vetyver' splashed like cologne

I am really enjoying this old US made blade. I think this was either shave #3 or #4 and they've all been quite pleasant. Sharp enough to whack whiskers just fine with less attention to detail needed compared to an extremely sharp blade like a vintage Personna74 or Gillette Platinum Plus. Those blades can leave a mark if you wander off during the shave, but not this Schick. Nope, extremely forgiving with no pulling.

Man, I would like to run into more of these old things. A successful blind buy for sure.

BBS results,

Martin

Pinaud clubman

Second shave with a straight today. 3 passes, wtg, xtg and a mix of xtg and atg. Very near bbs with no nicks or cuts. Very happy indeed

Blighty theme tonight.

Pre: Hot wash with dove soap.
Brush: Vie Long Horse/Badger mix
Soap: Professor Blighty's Hyperion from the Keats Range
Razor: 1966 Super Speed flare tip
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
AS: Professor Blighty's Hyperion post shave tonic.

2 pass WTG and ATG left me with a nice smooth shave with no weepers, nicks or razor burn. Going back to using the straight for next shave seeing my finger is all healed. I love the Hyperion range, 20 swirls on the puck provided enough lather for 2 passes with some left over, the post shave tonic never stings, just smalls great and makes my skin feel soft.

RazoR'OC'k-tober (23 Oct)
Pre: RazoRock/HTGAM mentholated lime soap
Soap: Seifenglatt "Toulouse"
Brush: Certifyd #4 with 24mm silvertip
Razor: Ikon OSS
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock black (1)
Post: Thayer's witch hazel, followed by Myrsol Antesol
Got a mediocre lather from the soap. Slick, but no volume. Brush is getting very soft now.

Prep: Hot shower with Speick bar soap
Soap: Irisch Moos
Razor: Fatboy
Blade: GSB (2)
AS: Clubman Special Reserve + Cade balm

Nice shave today, however the GSB blade had lost its stellar performance compared to yesterday's shave. I head shave, so 2 shaves is usually the point that blade performance starts to take a nosedive.

Friday 24th October:

Omega 49
Proraso White Shaving Cream
EJ89

Comfortable BBS shave. Does life get any better?
