S.O.T.D. Saturday 22nd Feb. to Friday 28th Feb. 2014

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso pre-shave - sensitive
Soap: MWF + Bergamot EO
Bowl: Woodhead Pedestal
Brush: Semogue 830
Razor: Gillette Red-tip Superspeed (1955)
Blade: Sputnik (2)
After: M&S Harvard AS, Limes Skin Food

Second time using this Red Tip (traded with Robert Otten, thanks Rob!) and still getting acquainted with it. It's kind of mild even though it's at the red end of the aggressive scale but I guess, as Superspeeds are mild anyway, that figures.
Certainly a smooth shave and a joy to use and, well, speedy. Haven't been able to get a BBS with this but a DFS is easily done. Need to try this razor with a few different blades I think.

The MWF started fine with thick substantial lather but started thinning after the second pass and I needed to reload the brush a little. Looking back I reckon I should've loaded more at the start. I've become spoilt with Fox's easy-lather soaps and am thinking when the MWF runs out it'll get replaced with a Wickham SS.

Prep: Hot rinse & Aleppo soap
Razor: Ever Ready Streamline
Blade - Vintage GEM
Brush: Frank Shaving Purtech
Soap: Mike's eucalyptus and lemon grass - suribachi lathered
Post - Witch hazel & Proraso balm

These blades came courtesy of a Yankee enabler and they are great! Very sharp and smooth.

Always enjoy using a Streamline. A touch of luxury similar to shaving with a Gillette Aristocrat.

So let's see here. First off, you're using a soap on your face that smells like cat pee (or worse) from most people's descriptions. Ok, that will set the tone.

Far as that comparison between the two razors goes.......I have said the same thing many times!!!!

Wickham Master Lather
Weleda After Shave Balm
Frederic Malle Musc Ravageur

What an excellent brush! It's as soft as Kent silvertip but the loft makes it very satisfying to face lather with.

A rare morning shave after dropping the Mrs to work for 5:30.

Prep: Village Barber Oil
Brush: Kent BK8
Cream: Dr Harris - Windsor
Razor: UFO U2/DLC
Post: Windsor splash followed by Village Barber Balm/444

I don't use the BK8 often enough, I've considered selling it so many times but every time I use it; luxury!

I lovely morning shave BBS with lovely conditioned skin.

Great minds think alike, Dick!

T&H was a great choice. The pre-shave protector is simply grapeseed oi, borage oil and vitamin E, and seems to work well with the shaving cream, a light touch and a decent blade, proven by no stinging when alum was applied. What a great shave!

Yeah, cheap razor but what a surprise with the blade! Seriously, what a great blade which has given me three flawless shaves. Again, what a great shave!

Splashing on "the Veg" is a forming addiction and even curiously enhances the D&G, really bringing out the tobacco. Did I say this was a great shave?
