Bought it from eBay last year along with another for a few £

They're both Canadian in origin and this one made by SIMMS, i think this could be the original knot? I unscrewed the base off exposing the underside of the knot and adhesive, doesn't appear home made? It's started shedding a little and lost a certain volume to the knot now so could be home to my Plisson?

The handle is great and the lip into the top section suits face lathering for thumb and fingers.

Certainly my favourite brush.

A first for me today, a shave with a straight razor :s. I used a newly restored Wade & Butcher Wedge which has been re-honed. I only did a WTG pass on cheeks and neck and experienced some tugging and neck irritation, so stopped and finished up with the Mongoose. Like all things new it requires new skills and practice!
