S.O.T.D - Saturday 27th September to Friday 3rd October

Friday iii October, 2014

Prep: Hot shower, Zirh Alpha Hydroxy Face Wash
Pre: Splash of cold water
Brush: Neep Dreadnought '67
Soap: MWF in stick format
Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless (Green) #3
Post: Lucky Tiger Aspen ASL, Kiehl's Ultimate Men's ASB
Fragrance: Lalique Encre Noir

Result: I picked up the WS Classic this week for under £5, so thought I'd give it a whirl this morning. Have to say it delivered a fine shave. Not aggressive but by Friday I am looking for more mild shaves anyway. Not a bad spend I think.

All the best

Jon

Greetings

Friday 3rd October

Warm shower
Hot flannel
C&S No88 bowl lathered
HMW Badger brush made by myself
Gillette Single Ring (1907)
Astra SP (3)
Cold rinse
Thayers Lavender witch hazel
Speick aftershave lotion

Three shaves with this Centenarian razor. I finally have worked out the angle on the Single rings, very shallow, blade as flat as possible to my face. Use a light touch and short strokes.
I now love the shaves from these old veterans, they can run with the more modern DE razors and achieve a near 99% BBS result with no irritation :icon_razz:
A Gillette Goodwill razor is loaded ready to start the next three shaves in this open comb for October theme.

I love this razor - it is soooo fierce! I rather think it puts my Muhle R41 to shame. Just the one pass and I'm done ...
