Travelling with a Mastro Livi RWL34

This time I decided to bring with me this Mastro Livi razor and it will keep me company for about 10 days. I am very happy for that, of course, as I guess I took an excellent decision in choosing this travel mate. Moreover, I love the RWL34 touch and its excellent property of holding the edge for a very long time. Always ready for shaving, just a pass on Mastro Livi loom strop and hand palm, and I am ready to have the best shave ever.

  • Pre-Shave: Proraso Green Pre-shave Cream
  • Soap: Tcheon Fung Shin Red Tub
  • Brush: Omega Boar Brush 89
  • Bowl: Chinese Cheap Bowl
  • Strop: Mastro Livi Loom Strop and Hand Palm Stropping
  • Razor: Mastro Livi RWL34, 9/8 Full Hollow, French Point
  • Post-Shave: Argan Oil
  • After Shave: RazorGuy Bay Rum Aftershave

Haslinger Schafmilch
M&F Blonde Badger
ATT M2 Kronos
Personna Lab Blue (5)
Clinique Post-Shave Soother
Lalique Hommage a l'Homme EdT

Decided to push the Lab Blue a 5th shave... amazing! Probably could go at least one more but won't push my luck and will load a fresh blade tomorrow.

Cold Water
Prep Pre Shave Creme
Proraso Red
Omega 31156
GEM Damaskeene
GEM PTFE
Brut Musk

I was given the Omega brush as a gift, I'm very pleased with it, no break in time needed already very soft.

Great shave overall.

Bulldog Face Wash
Palmolive Shaving Cream
Kent Infinity Silvertex
Weck Bantam
Personna Stainless (1)
Hot Rinse, Cold Rinse & Alum Wash
Quorum Aftershave
Quorum EDT

Face Lathered
Two Pass - WTG & ATG

What a little beauty this is! It's a Weck, the Bantam model. I think it's a hair shaper and it takes those long Personna spined blades.

Guarded, it feels like the Durham Duplex but not as smooth. It certainly nothing like the face shredder that is the Feather Artist Club, but I did get a good number of weepers which I think was more down to angle and lack of lightness.

Post-shave, they've all gone but I do have a patch of irritation on my neck.

In all, a good shave and a fun first attempt with this device - it is a million miles better than any of those half-DE shavettes, a tonne safer than the Feather but not as safe nor as smooth as the Durham Duplex.

Tabactober! Now there's an idea ...

I do Tabac Friday, religiously, but a month ... well, I could do a month. Actually, I couldn't! I'm all over the place with razors, soaps and smells.

Tabactober! Great idea :D
